My DT theory

I've had this theory since Systematic Chaos was released. Octavarium was their end, meaning they've come full circle.

Systematic Chaos = When Dream and Day Unite
- The quality of both albums aren't to great
- Has some of JM's best bass work

Black Clouds & Silver Linings = Images & Words
- Other than the obvious Ampersands, both are great musically
- Both singles end abruptly and the 2nd single is a ballad
- Closers are among their best

Now, here we are with Awake = New Album. What we know so far:

- Both had members leave, except this time MP left before, and KM left after.


If my theory is true, then this album will be their best since Awake...and considering how things are going, it sounds like we are in for a real treat.  :corn

Also, it might prove to be the most collectively written album SINCE Awake, in terms of music and lyrics, I think every member might have a good amount of contributions this time around, and be less weighted onto JP and JR for music and JR for lyrics. I don't expect lyrics from "the new drummer", on this album, but I would hope he brings some insight in terms of the music writing process. We won't really know that until they reveal it in interviews or, at the very latest, whenever a Making-Of-DVD comes out with the new album, which I am SURE they will do, considering how this is a monumental moment in DT's history.

This assumes that Awake is one of their best, which, while many people agree with it, some (including me) don't.

Also, the band got significantly heavier from I&W to Awake. If they do that from BCSL to DT11, a lot of the fanbase won't be happy at all.

But enough raining on the parade. The OP was a) pretty funny and b) scarily quite possible.  :tup

I think BC&SL was the best since I&W, and now Awake will be rocking, with same amount of songs, or close.

Correlation doesn't imply causation, though. Plus there is too much subjectivity involved.

Though I see why one would hold this theory. :)

JM sounded completely revived when he was talking about being in the studio with just him and JP, like old times. JR and JLB also seemed particularly positive. We are in for a treat! Theory or not.
