I thought putting Mangini's name in a thread title meant a temporary ban?

I think it's over today cause one of the mods changed "New Drummer" to "Mike Mangini" in the title of this thread.

Now we can expect a lot more of this kind of insanity... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1-8j9zhdOE  :hefdaddy

Fuck that was good, sometimes he seems chaotic you feel he fucks up the timing but he doesn't.

I wish they would share the audition performance of TDOE in it's entirety.

That was only for the first couple of days, whereas anyone who cares enough about spoilers should really have seen the documentary by now.
Just to be completely accurate, *first couple of hours :lol It's just been like 28 hours since the announcement.

Just amazing.  DT should count their lucky stars that some of their fans are at this level of unconditional cult worship.

This may be a silly question, but is Mangini going to play drums on the new album?  Wasn't the album being recorded before he joined the band?

They started writing the album in January. John sent demos to Mangini supposedly. They began recording in March. All happened when MM was in the band

Confirmed by Mebert from discussions with JR at his benefit concert - Mangini wasn't present for the writing on this album, only the recording. Also JM lyrics for songs. Link: https://www.dreamtheaterforums.org/boards/index.php?topic=22053.msg867186#msg867186

Well, as of November 2010, he was still living in Boston. I wouldn't say that him moving to NY is inevitable; MP and his family live in Pennsylvania and it worked well; also, for the audition, MM came to NY by train. Sure, it would make things a bit easier, but it's not necessary imo.
