I guess I'll finish this off. Thanks to everyone who kept up with it or gave it a glance. Hope it was at least somewhat interesting.
2. Dave Gahan and Martin Gore (Depeche Mode)
Depeche Mode were the leading band of the 80s along with The Cure, as far as I'm concerned. They wouldn't feel complete without both Dave and Martin. Dave is the more dominant lead vocalist, taking on the songs with a deep, cold, sinister voice that suits bleak songs like Black Celebration and Blasphemous Rumors. Martin Gore has a sweeter and higher voice, and sings beautifully on ballads like A Question of Lust and One Caress. The lyrics are always overflowing with darkness and emotion, and the vocals always perfectly suit the tone with 2 powerful, mesmerizing singers.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand number one...
Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails)
I've been a huge fan of Nine Inch Nails since back when I first started seriously listening to music. Pretty Hate Machine was the very first CD I ever bought, and The Downward Spiral was the first "life-changing" album in my life. Trent conjures so much passion and anger with his voice, especially live. He sounds so convincing whenever he sings, whether he's condemning religion (Heresy), embracing destiny (The Great Below), feeling used (Sin), or seeing an alien descend from the sky (The Warning). There will never be another artist like him, and certainly never another singer like him that puts forth so much fervor.
And I'm spent.
