Hey guys,

Well, some of you die hard DT fans may call me a bit of a newb (only owning some of the DT albums). But I have a spare tenner or so to spend on the almighty DT...

The albums I currently own are...

Images and Words
Awake
Systematic Chaos
A Change of Seasons
Six Degrees of inner Turbulence
Octavarium
Black Clouds and Silver Linings
and
Falling to Infinity

So, whats the next best thing to get? :D

I'm thinking Metropolis, or When Dream and Day unite...

Suggestions? :D

Honestly though, HOW HAVE YOU NOT GOTTEN SCENES FROM A MEMORY? That's the one to do next.

There are two schools of thought on DT that are common here... images&words + awake are the best albums, followed by scenes+six degrees.... and scenes+six degrees are the best albums, followed by images&words+awake.  Get scenes!!  It's my favorite actually.

Get Scenes, then Train of Thought, then When Dream and Day Unite. Then you'll have all of them. Obviously you like Dream Theater enough to own eight of their releases, so you'll probably like at least two of those last three.

Whatever you do, don't do WDADU until last. It's got a different vocalist, Charlie Dominici.

Thats alright then, because I was looking at the price of it. It's like nearly twice the price of the other albums on Amazon.co.uk

Just listened to a song from WDADU his voice reminded me of this song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCOPuGBg_W0 :P

WDADU is decent, it's got its gems obviously. Ytse Jam and Killing Hand alone are reasons to get it.

I bought WDADU second, which is probably why I love it so much.

I bought WDADU before the last few I had to get.   I would definitely recommend Scenes From A Memory for your next.  Amazing album.  It may have to grow on you though,  took awhile for me.  ;)

Definitely Scenes From A Memory. It took a little while for me to really like it, but now it's my favorite DT album next to BC&SL and I&E.

I couldn't imagine having bought Systematic Chaos, Octavarium, and Black Clouds before having bought Scenes from a Memory. Fatal Tragedy is what helped me rediscover Dream Theater (I say rediscover because I heard Pull Me Under on the radio once when I was younger and loved it, but never found out who it was until after SFaM came out)
