I voted for Opeth, but does it really matter which one wins a poll? :P

They're both 6/10s for me, but Damnation is the slightly stronger six.

Both albums are a bit too one-dimensinal for me (DT's token 'heavy' album vs Opeth's token "clean" album) but I went with ToT by a smidge too.

Also, lol, on a DT forum, would you be surprised? I know there are a ton of Opeth fans, but it wouldn't be surprising if DT won. Not at all. It really wouldn't be surprising either way.

I think ToT is incredibly solid. The only semi-bad track IMO is This Dying Soul.

TDS is the worst part of the AA suite
As I Am is DT's worst opener
Endless Sacrifice is OK but way too long
Honor Thy Father = lol
Stream of Consciousness is about 2x longer than it should be
Vacant is amazing
In the Name of God is way overrated

Yea, ToT is a pretty bad album.
space cadet, pull out.
The only thing I enjoy more than Frengers is pleasing myself anally via the prostate.

Honor Thy Father = lol

hey,

hey buddy

DON'T CROSS THE CROOKED STEP

But I agree, that album is nearly unlistenable.  Every single song except for Vacant is drawn out ridiculously for the sake of nothing at all.  They could all be cut in half and be better off from it.  The chugging, heavy guitar formula is relentless, but never really works.  The vocals are at their weakest, and the most talented member of the band doesn't get to do anything but contribute the monotonous, silly synth solo in that token long instrumental section in every song.
