Thomas Giles - Pulse
« on: April 18, 2011, 01:47:15 PM »
Picked this up at the BTBAM show I was at last week.

Only played it twice so far, but it's really interesting. It's eclectic and sprawling, but that's generally what make up the best solo albums. I love how many different genres Tommy plays with on this album.

After two listens my two favorite tracks are definitely "Scared" and "Medic", although pretty much every song is good in my opinion.

Anyways, for those of us that have this album, appreciate!

And for those that don't have this album, get it! It's pretty much a 40 minute album filled with the non-growlymetal parts of BTBAM :D

space cadet, pull out.
The only thing I enjoy more than Frengers is pleasing myself anally via the prostate.

I still need to get this. It seems to have gotten a pretty positive reception so far.

I love this album, it's so diverse.
Not a single bad song on it, which results in a very tough time picking favorites.
Reverb Island or Hamilton Anxiety Scale probably.

I have this but I haven't listened to it yet.  I'll report back soon.
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.

Great album, love the packaging too.

Last song is easily the best \o/

Meh.

It's alright I guess. There're a couple of songs that I enjoy, but very few seem to rise above the level of 'Huh, well that was something, I guess.' It IS very eclectic, but I don't think that he really did that well at making each genre his own or making each genre interesting in his own way, if that makes any sense.

I do quite like 'Sleep Shake,' 'Scared,' 'Medic,' and there was another track I enjoyed, but I'm at work and I can't remember its name off hand.

It was an interesting listen, but I don't think I'm going to go out of my way to listen to it anytime soon.

I spun it once or twice when it came out, but it didn't really click much for me. I'll have to give it another go later though.

I wasn't a huge fan of it the first few listens, but I'm loving it now.

Someone should remix some BTBAM songs by shoving parts of songs off this album into them. Would be quite an experiment.
