Oh, before I forget, I also have to go on record as saying:  As I thought I would be, I was impressed with Priester's drumming and the band's reaction to him.  He obviously worked really hard to prepare, really wanted it badly, and really took it personally when he messed up.  I couldn't help but like him, root for him, and feel bad when he messed up.  Really special guy.  I will definitely want to follow him in the future.

I strongly recommend you "Temple of Shadows" by Angra.

The news of the day: John Myung smiles. At 6:37 in the video, to be precise. Congrats to Mike Mangini but the true maestro is Peter Wildoer who has done something that no man has ever before, he has made JM smile.

'DT and I have a great musical vibe. But DT also need a guy who fits the band as a person, like a casting. AND someone who's ready to fully commit! I really just went in and had fun:-) and it was great and we're already planning some future projects together. I wish though I had the chance to ok the footage. If you're saying Mangini doesen't deserve his spot in DT because he "isn't enough man" or "too emotional" you can take your opinions elsewhere. Emotion is only positive when playing music. Mangini definitely deserves his place in Dream Theater. Fantastic!

I'm sure he deserves as he's a great professional, no doubt
I just hope to see his emotions no more than one year

Congrats to Mike, just watching how emotional he was really makes it clear that he was the right man for the job, he really wants it.

After you left her there hot and ready to go....walking out the front door and leaving it open.....and putting a sign in the front yard saying 'My wife needs to have sex now...Please go do that for me'
  If MP feels anything it is probably what he felt when he tried to get back in the band after A7X didn't ask him to be thier full time drummer....like he made a mistake leaving in the first place.
  I know he has stated he is happy and by all accounts he is...but the FACT of the matter is that this entire process was the sum of his doing...period.
 Best of luck to him and I'm looking forward to his releases coming out this year and I am looking forward to some new DT as well.

He just didn't want Aquiles to feel bad about his mistake and I was pleased to see that both JR and JP telling him that it was okay and he did a great job.

I'm happy they chose Mike. He was the obvious choice. Can't wait to hear the new album, I have a feeling it's going to be a true masterpiece.

That's a bit heartening to hear.  Less anger and more "I just didn't like the doc."

And I am really happy that they're going to do something with him.  The jam at the beginning of his segment was awesome, very LTEesque.  Just not what I'm looking for from DT.
