Last speculation: remember how James wasn't allowed to tour for static impulse? It was due to international work visas (Peter is from Sweden). So maybe all these legal issues were over that again so Peter could be in DT. And the USA finally cleared the situation allowing DT to release the documentary

Peter, I would like to take a moment to thank you. Darkane is one of the bands that got me in to metal. While that was almost 6 years ago, if not for you, I might might not be amongst all this excitement today.

I think this huge delay was - at least partly - due to broadcasting contract negotiations (at least the interview with the director of the documentary pointed it out).

Actually, while we're on the subject, on behalf of the forum, I'd like to also like to thank Peter for posting here and giving all kinds of inside scoop to us crazed music fanatics.

I thought about doing that, but they're so fresh in my mind that it'll just seem redundant to me.

Wildoer, please take any criticisms with an open mind. DTF can be very analytic (if you can't already tell) of things like this. it's probably a little weird to be so close to a lot of people seeing your audition.

No worries! I've seen some people changing their opinion on me since they "hated" me for doing screams on LaBrie's album.  ;)  Also, I know that the other drummers are the top names in the drumming community while I'm the underdog so I think I'll be able to take it. Or, maybe I'll be out of here forever...   ;)

41 minutes (if not posted early)

Peter,
I personally havent given a congratulations or shown any direct love and for that I apologize.  I do think that your work with JLB was absolutely brilliant!  My son who starts university this year majoring in drumset performance is a big fan of yours now after me playing the static impulse album for him.  He made the comment that he thought you were better than portnoy (he is not as big of a DT fan as I would like him to be unfortunately but he does appreciate their virtuosity and technical skill) as the sound of the ablum was more in line with the music he likes.  I hope that you stick around here as I love reading thoughts and opinions of fantastic musicians such as yourself.

Sincere respect man!
-Mike

Remember guys: it's a big video and it's HD. That means it was probably uploaded HOURS ago, but it's set to private. It's probably all a matter of when somebody at Roadrunner decides to check the little Publix box. :)

Apologies to the RR team for the influx of messages they'll get now.

Twenty minutes of watching first.  You won't have to worry.

@Wildoer
The drumming on the pre-chorus and chorus of Jekyll or Hyde is among the most catchy and awesome drumming I've heard in quite a while(as it is throughout the song and album). Thanks (yet another one) for being here and being such down to earth guy sharing precious and interesting info with us all.

If I may ask a question: you prepared material for touring with James, how was learning/playing the Mangini parts of previous albums compared to the DT songs you had to learn? Was it a similar process, what were the challenges, etc?

I think if you're honestly worried about getting surprised or anything, then it'd be best to avoid DTF and just watch the video.

You know, this will be a shame. That's why I'm closing this forum for 25 min and go directly to YouTube. People should watch the whole chapter. And not be... LOL!!! THE DRUMMER IZ XXXX HA-HA! I SKIPPED 2 THE END!!!1

No twitter, no Facebook. Nothing but YouTube.

0% chance, since RR announced it.
