The chorus is awesome!

The chorus is fine......but it sounds exactly like any AB or Creed chorus.

Hey, I wasn't being an ass. We give each other a hard time about AB music all the time. I call him out for saying chorus's are being samey as he calls me out for being a Tremonti fanboy. I'm pretty sure there's a page somewhere in the AB thread where we've given each other flake for several posts. There's no tension at all. Just a weird buddy-buddy, convoluted way of talking about music we enjoy!  :tup

Actually my comment was intended to demonstrate my intense burning hatred for Accelerando.

My hatred for him burns hotter than a thousand exploding stars.

I'll see you at the picnic on Tuesday.

To be honest, I knew someone would say that the chorus's sound like the ones from Creed or AB and I tend to agree.  However he has a different voice than the others so it's kinda fresh.

I'm excited for this release and the songs are a lot heavier which I dig. Decay sounds bad-ass!

Personally, I actually prefer Tremonti's voice than Kennedy. Not saying Tremonti is a better singer... I just prefer his voice.

This.  I'm actually disappointed from what I've heard so far.  The only thing that makes this heavier than AB is his deeper voice.   I have the album on order so will make my final judements once I hear it.

I mean what did you guys expect though? Tremonti doing growling vocals?

It was kinda obvious it was going to be a melodic hard rock album but with Tremonti singing and with more metal/speedy riffs that wouldn't really fit the other two bands.

I thought one interview he said it was going to be a more straightforward metal album with more guitar work.  Now that may be true, but so far from what I've heard, it seems a pointless exercise.  I have paid for the album and will look forward to hearing it in full.

Not all melodic hard rock sounds like AB or Creed. There are LOTS of rhythms, progressions, note choices....everything that he could do still under the vein of melodic hard rock, yet he chooses to repeat the (almost) identical rhythms and feels from song to song and shows very little variation. Some, but very very very little.

And I love Tremonti. He's one of my biggest influences on guitar. But when you're in (now) 3 bands, and show virtually no diversity....then that becomes a flaw.

Yeah mine just shipped today.

Heard all the previews on Tremonti's youtube channel, the live bootleg performance, and some of the full tracks on this radio show here:

https://soundcloud.com/fmqb-productions/sets

It def is more of a songwriting approach but with him stepping up to be a frontman. It's not really just a "guitar album" type of thing. I'd say its a little harsh to call it pointless because he is writing vocal melodies, lyrics, singing here so there is a different challenge for him. I do feel some of the guitar solos are a little short though even though 11 songs have a solo.

The guitar riffs are very cool, however they are just more extreme versions of the same heavy riffs he did in AB. It seems most of the heavy riffs all kind of sound like one another.

I can agree.

The All I Was main riff reminded me of One by One by Alter Bridge

At least in my opinion, there are some solos where you really get into it but then it will just go to the chorus right away.

I ordered it from FRET12 a little over a month ago. I believe they are sold out now though
