Joey DeMaio of ManOwar plays some really good stuff. The arpeggios to Gates of Valhalla, Mountains, Bridge Of death, Guyana. He plays more like a guitarist.

Gene Simmons' early stuff was tasteful, especially Goin' Blind.

A lot of Tower of Power is epic, too many filler songs though. Usually the case with 70s Funk/Soul units.

Herbie Hancock - Chameleon
I was hoping someone would have said it before I got here.
One of the epicest basslines in world history. Such a groovy tune.
That was recorded on this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ARP_Odyssey and it's awesome because it's a bass line too.

Also, I really dig Stu Hamm.  He did a lot of bass for Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, but his solo stuff was pretty cool also.  This is the title track from his "Kings of Sleep" album.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvQ8BRit6ws

There are plenty of standout tracks on that album.  He's a lot into tapping, but not wild, out of control licks.  He uses it as more of a rhythmic device, as in the song above.  He taps out the bass line with the left hand and taps out some notes higher up, with the right hand.

A great example of this is "Surely the Best" from the same album.  Unfortunately, I cannot find a good copy of it.

Oh and 'Glass' by Incubus!

Just came to post this.  I was listening to this song in the car on the way to work and the bassline just floored me.  Never realised how damn groovy it is.

Love Stu.  A Satch album is always instantly better when Stu is on the bass.

Well for some time I think the one of my favourites is Stuart Hamm in Flow My Tears, great track, great bass line, triplets and tapping, everywhere in it, and melody of course  ;)
Sick Sad Little World from Incubus is also great bass liner one. So groovy, great too play it, if you play that riff faster and faster, he becomes a graet exercise ;)
Angra's Ego Painted Grey has got great bass intro, tapping as well. Hard to repeat it ;)
From Dream Theater - I just love bass line A Fortune In Lies, so crazy in the beginning of the song, I think that never will be able to play that ;) Bass in The Glass Prison, before JP solo and under solo, you know what I mean ;) And I love spooky As I Am bass flageolet intro... :metal

When my brother was getting into all different styles of bass he turned me onto this guy.  he'll blow you away.  His name is Michael Manring.

Love Stu.  A Satch album is always instantly better when Stu is on the bass.

Indeed.  I mean yeah, Matt Bissonette is a good bass player, but he's no Stu Hamm.  :lol

Yep.  Flow My Tears was pretty cool.  I didn't like that album as much as Kings of Sleep.  In fact that's unquestionably my fave Stu Hamm solo album.  Just everything on it is fantastic.  I learned how to play Terminal Beach once and man, what a workout.  Very cool though.

I love Stu's "Linus and Lucy" bit.  Killer.  As for Billy, the examples you mentioned are gold:

High Speed on Ice (Ignore that the video is about some hockey guy, it's the song that's important):
