A tornado touched down nine blocks from my house...
« on: April 10, 2011, 09:34:34 PM »
It was crazy. Super windy, rain pouring like there's no tomorrow, the sky was a fucking strobe light of lightning. There's trees down everywhere and people's roofs are torn off.

And my house is the only house within a twelve block radius that has electricity. Even Mother Nature acknowledges how awesome I am.

That's all I really had to say.

It's almost like you picked the house that you knew would avoid tornadoes.

Funny you should mention that, as defying gravity is going to be the next amazing stunt I attempt to pull off.

While I didn't personally experience this (since it happened before I was born) but I've always been told by my dad this story...

He was at work as a K-Mart manager (seriously, but he's long-ago moved on to better stuff).
He hears on the radio "There's a tornado that just touched down 1 mile east of this station."
He goes "Holy Fuck. We're a mile east of that station."
Then he sees the thing come through and absolutely demolish their competition located across the street and the store he was at had no damage.

:heart

I love you so much for knowing a song from that.  :-*
I've never even seen the play nor read the book and I know that song.
They played that song on a CD of lobby music for my old job.

And I love you for still always seeming impressed whenever I prove how awesome I am, no matter how frequent that may be.

New plan: I'm gonna go for a walk and check out my neighborhood. What should I put on my iPod to really make it seem like it's the end of the world?

Friday.
I imagined the story to go more like this.

I was sitting a traffic light blaring Space Dye Vest and next to me in another car was Kevin Moore. And I'll never be open again.

I actually took two walks earlier cause I'm just south of you (IL) and both times I listened to "Thick as a Brick". So, go the antithesis of that.

I've never heard Godspeed You Black Emperor, but go with that anyway.

I settled on Haunted, by Poe (Surprise, surprise), as it was so dark outside it really seemed to match the mood of the house. It was pretty eerie. I imagine it's what Cloverfield must have been like. Apparently there were 157 homes damaged, including ones not 50 feet away from mine. It was fucking insanity. Now I'm going to get some lunch.

I just realized that if LHK is the OP its like a syntax error with his style.  He can't change the name of the thread title to be different from the thread title if he is the one who started the thread in the first place!

:splodetard:
If anyone in this thread judge him; heyy James WTF? about you in Awake In Japan? Then I will say; WTF about you silly?
