When results alter perception
« on: March 31, 2011, 10:33:10 PM »
Out tonight for a bit, I saw a guy who had painted his goatee and hair red for the Cardinals home opener today.  They lost the game.  And it dawned on me that it looked kind of sad, all decked out like that for a team that had just lost.  But had they won, it would have been like, "Cool, man!  Way to support the home team that just kicked some butt and won!"

It reminded me of games they show on TV, and when fans in the stands are shown at the end of a loss with their faces painted or whatever, and it looks sad then, too.

Anyone else notice this kind of thing, in regards to this or anything else?

I rocked an old style Munson jersey all day. I remember seeing it at some store in the mall for 140 bucks. I couldn't spend that. Two days later at a Marshalls I found one for 55 in the overstock section. I jumped on it.

I've never found that to look sad.

What is really sad is when a guy arranges to ask his girl to marry him at a big sporting event, and she says "No."  THAT is sad.

And kind of funny.

But still, all in all, really sad.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.
