And a shoddy one. In fact, I always thought part of the TOS hilarity came from the bad accents. I mean, compare old Scotty and Chekhov against the recent one, where they actually got people with the proper accent. It's night and day.
I'm always surprised to read that Doohan got his roles because of his skill with accents,  and I'm always thinking "not really, right?"
