So, this is probably my favorite jazz fusion group.  The line up is epic.  Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke, Lenny White, Al DiMeola.  Anyways, sans DiMeola, they are getting back together... with Frank Gambale and JEAN LUC PONTY... I'm so pumped for this and definitlely plan on attending their concerts when they come to Chicago which I know they will because if they don't I'll be pissed.

If you haven't heard, check it out:

I don’t know what to put here anymore

Great music. I almost never listen to it for some reason, but when I do I love it! :tup

I'd go if they hit Minneapolis. The reunion show (with Al Di Meola) I saw in 2008 was one of the best concerts of my life.

Originally this tour was billed with Bill Connors. I guess having him instead of Gambale might have been a little bigger deal. Hymn of the 7th Galaxy lineup anyway.

Was that the one that was recorded for the live album? Because it's awesome if so!

Gambale is easily one of the greatest guitarists on earth.  Criminally underrated.
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.

I love Return To Forever.

They were the first jazz-fusion band I got turned onto (If you discount Emerson, Lake and Palmer).

I missed the 2008 reunion, but picked up the live CD which is pretty killer. I'm likely going to have to miss this show (Damn you Geddy, Alex and Neil!) but I hope to pick up the CD if there is one.

I love Frank Gambale too so I can't see any reason not to like this.

I'm definitely interested in this, but don't really consider it RTF with this lineup.

The RTF reunion show was simply astonishing. But I can see why Al Di Meola didn't get on board with this. He's been more into his World Sinfonia stuff. Just caught him on tour a couple weeks ago and he was phenomenal as was his band. And his new album Pursuit of Radical Rhapsody is his best in years imo. If you get a chance to catch him on this tour, do yourselves a favor and don't pass it up.
