NPR; random appreciation thread!
« on: March 15, 2011, 05:16:11 PM »
So, I'm listening to a lot of podcasts on my Android phone, one of them being Fresh Air. Only problem was that they didn't label their podcasts well, only the date it appeared, so I was forced to auto-download them. And they're big (20MB).

Well, wrote an email to them on Monday about it and believe it or not, today's podcast was nicely labeled! That is service.

Appreciate NPR.

I don't listen often, but it's always a positive experience when I do.

Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

They have some fantastic shows. Wait Wait Don't Tell Me is amazing.

*Appreciates*

Wait Wait Don't Tell Me is a great show, as well as Car Talk.  I especially like my local station because they broadcast the BBC World Service from Midnight to 5 a.m. ( I work second shift, so it's nice for me).
In high school my buddies and I built a Van Der Graaf generator.  You know, to get girls.

Love it. Sometimes they have stuff on that's just a little zany for me, but still more quality than you'd here on any other station.

I'm a fan of A Prairie Home Companion from way back.  I could listen to Garrison Keillor tells stories all day, and have done it sometimes.  I have around 150 "News from Lake Wobegon" recordings from over the years.
