I wouldn't say that "The Baying of the Hounds" is underrated, because at least half of the people here would say that it's a top-tier song from Ghost Reveries. (including myself)
Isolation Years however, there's an underrated song.
Might be my favorite from the album.

I think Isolation Years gets enough recognition. Barely anybody talks about Hours of Wealth, which is unjustly shelved more times than not.

I'm fairly new to Opeth, and it seems everyone loves them here. Their folk-type stuff is brilliant but I'm not so much a fan of their death metal side...

Then get GHOST REVERIES.
And then try and expand on the discography any way you want. You can't go wrong.

+1 for Damnation if you like their mellow side.

However, if growls are the issue for you then go with their latest album, Watershed. It has the fewest growls by far to kind of ease you into it.

Both Ghost Reveries and Watershed can help, so I stand corrected. Earlier Opeth is where you might have some steps back. Once you accept his lyrics into your vocal appreciation, Opeth will do wonders for you.

I love how so many people are saying, "WHAT A BLATANT RIP-OFF! THIS IS WHY METAL FANS HATE RAP!"

The whole point of the song is to take something from a different genre and see if it can be turned into a rap song, and the fact Opeth is mentioned in the description box shows that no one is trying to be sneaky here.
