The only part that sounds ANYTHING like JT is the vocals at the beginning of Folklore, and even that's a stretch.

Before the album came out I remember a guy on the Opeth forum (he was one of the people invited to the listening party for the press) freaking out because he thought the album sounded like shitty Jethro Tull.

Weird how I get into Morningrise right as I consider Heritage one of the best things to come from such a massive change in a band like Opeth. Not to say that my love for Heritage has degraded any, but I maybe it took me listening to an album full of clean vocals by the man himself (Damnation doesn't get spun much anymore) to get me to want to listen to the more...harsher albums. Orchid is next.

The Night and the Silent is a top5 Opeth-song for me probably, it's just SO good.
The acoustic guitars got me hooked right from the first time I heard it, and the heavy climatic part when Mikael whispers the lyrics, that is just so powerful.

Orchid is the only album that I would say meanders to the point where fans might call it boring.

Morningrise is basically Opeth learning to edit.
