NCAA basketball postseason is here,, and we have a couple groups from last year that are ready to go for anyone wanting to play. Hef won the standard game last year, and I think that's DTVT that won the alternate points game.

I'm in. I honestly don't follow college basketball as much as I'd like to for most of the season, but I do follow my team, Michigan State, very closely. If it looks like I'm being a bit of a homer with my picks, well, I probably am.

Interesting possibility of two 2nd round games being matchups of Big East teams. Apparently it wasn't a big deal to avoid that.

Big Ten got some real love on seeding.

UAB, USC, and somewhat VCU are confusing picks. UAB did next to nothing to deserve a bid other than have a high RPI. USC is loaded with bad losses. VCU at least has some wins high quality wins against it's bad losses.

Disagree. With losses mounting, and one really bad loss, down the stretch they no longer looked particularly good.

Colorado probably was the worst snub. I don't like the comparison you mention for who should get in or not, but Virginia Tech really didn't have a great resume compared to Colorado.

A 25-8 record and the first conference win at Gonzaga in 10 years should have done it, I feel. I wish they would have just won the damn tourney so they wouldn't have to worry about it.

Off year for Gonzaga, though, so it wasn't even a top 50 RPI win. One bad loss and one absolutely horrendous loss since that win against Gonzaga really hurt their resume. Losing twice to Gonzaga since then probably didn't help, either.

Just a reminder that brackets probably need to be filled in today.

Also, there is an option to copy your bracket from the standard game into the alternate scoring one. The standard might be the main one, but the alternate scoring game does produce a winner, too.

The alternate scoring puts an emphasis on predicting the lower seeds more accurately. You get very little bang for predicting wins by top seeds until the late rounds, and if you can correctly predict a 13 seed to the Sweet 16 you get rewarded well. Still best to predict everything accurately, obviously, but it does try to reward being correct on harder picks.

Colorado played a terrible out of conference schedule which is the reason they are not in. I do think they are more worthy than UAB and Clemson though.

My bracket is fucked.

Lots of really stupid, stupid plays happening at the end of these games. Kansas State's Jacob Pullen forced a 3 with three guys draped on him and got it stuffed, when his sharpshooting teammate was wide open not 5 feet away. And there was time to kick it back to him.

Henson for UNC made a brilliant defensive play near the end, then almost gave up the game TWICE with idiot plays in the final few seconds.

Only two I can think of at the moment, but there have been quite a few.

Yes, I was quite upset with him. However, UNC survives and advances.
