Diablo Swing Orchestra
« on: March 06, 2011, 08:30:52 PM »
Any fans of these guys here? Some damned fine avant-garde metal here. It's metal, mixed with swing music, circus music, merry-go-round themes, and much more. For those who haven't heard, prepare to have your mind blown:

There are enough fans of them here I've been meaning to check them out.

Listening to your first link for the third time. I love this! :metal

Cole: "Ow I just got hit in the balls"
Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?
I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

:tup That's great! The second link is a little bit more of an acquired taste than the first, but it's great too.

I'm gonna collect the rest of their discography which is apparently 1 full length and an EP.

Their latest album has still got an awesome name. :metal

I saw/heard them live on a summer festival, they were horrible. The sun was shining, everyone was having a good time. And then, there they were. Horrible vocals, unoriginal rythms, ugly guitar sounds. I like metal, but I know 100% sure it was DSO, and that I didn't like it one bit.

^ You sir, are a fool. ;D

I, for one, can enjoy this band even more so now because I'm getting into jazz guitar and understanding how that sort of music really works in theory. So d:s:o will be of relevance to my tastes now. :hat

Saw them once - and they were awesome! https://entertainment.webshots.com/album/575519789ytjIGw?navtype=search
And yeah, new album is in the works.

What sucks is that I'm still waiting for a shirt I ordered at the beginning of November... It's not the band's fault, though.
Keep prog alive - see it live!

arguably, they were the best band to play at ProgPower USA in 2009.

They are amazing. One of the favorite band of my family. My dad usually doesn't like metal - but he absolutely LOVES DSO.

AMAZING BAND  :heart :heart

I didn't know their EP contains the exact songs that are on TBB. I scrapped the EP and now I've got TBBallroom now for the first time. Is good.

Diablo Swing Orchestra call it quits...

Long time with no updates - we know.

The reason is that many of us have been pursuing other interests during the down-time from touring and we simply can't find the motivation to keep going. We would like to thank everybody for the support during the years.

April Fool's...

Like many of you already guessed we're not disbanding. On the contrary we will finally start some serious rehearsing. The schedule have been pushed back but we're working hard to make sure there will be a new DSO album out in 2011.

On another note the vinyl editions of "Butcher's..." and "Sing along..." are available for pre-ordering at this location:
