Send me an angel, time for listening. It's been a while.

I've seen them twice at Turkey, pretty amazing live band.
Yea they have done some amazing ballads.

Listening to Love At First Sting for the first time in a really long time. I have fonder memories with this album than I initially thought. Reminds me a LOT of my first girlfriend, since I think this was one of the albums we listened to on her record player back before I knew how to download stuff. Her parents had a HUGE vinyl collection of music that I had been interested in checking out, but never had enough money to buy all of it. That was a really fun time.

Anyway, does anyone else notice a striking similarity between I'm Leaving You and Riot's Maryanne?

Orion....that's the one with a bunch of power chords and boringly harsh vocals, isn't it?

My favorite Scorps album is probably Blackout.

But Taken By Force and Virgin Killer are right up there.  And Tokyo Tapes is just amazing!!

Tokyo Tapes is all that and a bag of chips. Scorps are a great band.  :metal

I thought Savage Amusement was decent.  Crazy World didn't do it for me.

Unless I am forgetting a show, the first and only time I saw them was on the Face The Heat tour in '94 or '95.

This band was always up and down for me.  Favorite song was probably Still Lovin' You.  Got burned out on Hurricane and Wind of Change, just way overplayed.  Never liked any of those songs enough to dig any deeper.

Savage Amusement is a lot better than I remember it, Crazy World, musically is excellent. But there are some cringe worthy lyrics that you have to find a way to get past.

Favorite song was probably Still Lovin' You.
That song is still incredible.

Here in the Philippines, Scorpions, along with Chicago and Bon Jovi, is still played everyday on FM radio stations. One of the more popular songs here has not been mentione dyet: Always Somewhere. :p

The Scorps definitely don't deserve to be called a "guilty pleasure" band.
They were my sister's first favorite band, so I know a lot of their songs by heart basically. I'm just revisiting some of my fave tracks and my god the guitars are so good.

Huge fan of Klaus.  Just love the way that guy sings.   For very different reasons, they really did little wrong (save for letting Uli anywhere near a vocal mike) from Lonesome Crow through Savage Amusement (though I'm not a huge fan of the second live album).

I saw them on the LAFS tour, and while it was excellent, I wish I couild have seen some of those early songs (Sails, We'll Burn The Sky, In Trance) live.   Also, the cover to In Trance is one of my favorite album covers of all time.

I prefer the original cover of Lovedrive.  Glad they brought it back.

But Virgin Killer may be the only original artwork in rock-n-roll history I would never own.   I honestly don't think they asked for that specific artwork...but when they had it shown to them, they thought it would be "edgy".    Oh, it was edgy alright.    But rather than ask "what were they thinking", I think it's better to ask what that artist was thinking???

So I just listened to Savage Amusement for the first time, I like it. The production is a bit too polished for my taste though. Good songs, but they don't quite 'rock' the way I'd expect from the Scorps. Kind of a mellow, laid back affair.

I've been getting into Scorpions lately, and I'm digging both the 80s classics and the stuff with Uli. These guys have some of the worst album covers I've ever seen and the lyrics aren't exactly poetry gold, but Klaus Meine is a great singer and I love the guitar work on their records. The Sails of Charon has got to be my favorite song :metal

Oh yeah, that's another great one! Taken by Force is a nice middle point between the early stuff and the later hard rock sound; probably my favorite Scorpions album.

Return to Forever is a really good album too.  I tried a few things here and there from the 90s and 00s, but nothing other than HH1 and RtF caught my interest.
