You decide that going with him wouldn't be a bad idea, especially since he apparently knows magic. Surprisingly, it's not a very long walk. Kevin lives in a house on the outer edges of the town you live in. Upon entrance, you notice that it's full of things that are either really new, or really old. You can't figure out which. He boils a kettle of water for some tea, and then sits down in the living room with you.

"So, I'm afraid the reason that she turned into that monster is, in fact, Minecraft." Kevin says.

"Why? What does a computer game have to do with it?" You respond, perplexed.

"Well, it wasn't like this in the beginning, but Minecraft had a patch released for it shortly before the Tech War of 2084, which didn't change anything in the game. Nobody could figure out what happened. Soon, they found that they were too addicted to care. I believe the patch was actually installed onto the people themselves, through the game."

"But...that's insane! How could a patch for a computer game go through to the player?" You burst out.

"Nobody knows, but it's clear that our Minecraft developers have some kind of dark secret that nobody in the world is aware of. I remember back in the mid 2120s there were a slew of reports in the newspaper about a group of people being slaughtered by monsters. Now, with you telling me about how the monster was your girlfriend, and she transformed because you dogged on Minecraft, that confirms my theory that the Minecraft patch was to terminate "non-believers", if you will. The patch would allow them to turn into a monster to better convince their loved ones to partake in Minecraft."

"Alright. I'm officially freaked out. Can we talk about something else?"

"Of course. What do you want to know?"

A) "Say, what's that locket around your neck?"
B) "So, you were alive before the War on Technology?"
C) "Why did you save me?"

"Well, to be honest. I thought I was the only one left. When I heard the roar of your girlfriend, I thought in the back of my mind that it might have been one of those monsters from way back, which would have meant that someone else hadn't been hooked on Minecraft yet. It can get pretty lonely in here. Back when the internet still existed, it was easy to find interaction with anyone. Now, with the only known use for the internet being Minecraft, and Minecraft being the evil force that it is, there's not much for me to do."

"So, how did you find out that Minecraft was out to get everybody?"

"My wife...she" He clutched the locket in his hands and started weeping, "She attacked me just like your girlfriend attacked you. I had to...kill her. This locket, she had the key to it, and there's a picture of us together inside it, but I think she still had the key when I had to, you know. I fear it will never be open again." He was now fully crying, which makes you feel rather uncomfortable, but you sit still.

"But, what if you didn't kill her?" You respond, hoping to make him stop crying, "Aranka just disappeared when you hit her with that magic spell. What if they go back to, like, the Minecraft headquarters or...something?" Kevin had stopped crying, and appeared to be deep in thought.

"Hm, but there isn't any known base for the Minecraft developers. I have no idea where any of them would be..."

"Aren't the people just puppets now? Maybe we could capture one, and have it tell us the whole story behind the secret operation?" You become more enthusiastic at the prospect of seeing Aranka again, in human form.

"That's a brilliant idea! I can't believe I hadn't thought of that. We should go find somebody right now!"

"Good idea." Kevin responds. You walk down to a small pub called "The Craft". The name makes you roll your eyes, but knowing what you know about the brainwashing powers of Minecraft, you brush it aside. You enter the bar with Kevin.

"Alright kid. There's a nice girl at the bar. Go with your best pick-up line." You sit at the bar next to the girl and order some Scotch. 'Gotta be smooth,' you think to yourself.

A) "What's shakin', babe?"
B) "Let's play circus. You sit on my face and I'll guess your weight."
C) "Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?"
D) "...fuck Minecraft."
