Yeah, I've heard the demo many times. Sorry I didn't feel any depth in the songwriting. And it's not like I don't have an appreciation for Devin's softer side.. My favorite album of all time is probably Ghost.

Anyways, what I'm really looking forward to is Casualties of Cool. I imagine it will be sound kind of like Radial Highway with a darker sound. Should be wild..

Hahaha Wow. I didn't say there's no depth in the songwriting, I said I didn't feel any depth in the songwriting. Devin is probably my favorite artist currently but I'm not gonna brown-nose everything he does. I found the lyrics, vocal melodies, and progression to be average and I didn't really enjoy the song. I guess I should really stick to lurking, you people can't take an opinion. Now continue posting your cute gifs   ;D

Epicloud's shaping up to be a cool album. Kind of a neat addendum to The Devin Townsend Project that explores aspects from every album.

I'm just amazed by how much material has been pouring out of Devin lately. He wrote 24 songs for Epicloud, in addition to Z2 and Casualties Of Cool. And this was right after the DTP which also has many B-sides. I'm hoping that he doesn't fall into the "quantity over quality" trap.

It's been working for him so far and he's said it feels more natural to him than writing one album and then touring for years on it.

I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

I'd definitely much rather he not tour for years and years in between albums like some bands do (*cough*Rush*cough*), and the quantity over quality issue will never happen, mainly because Devin is incapable of writing a bad song.

Keep in mind that we're just hearing either an unplugged version of the song or a rough demo of it.  I'm sure it'll sound better when Epicloud is released, and probably changed a bit.  I like it though.  I'm pretty pumped for the album.

Epic. If Epicloud is what I think it is, that being a wicked mix of Addicted, Terria, and Ki, this will be the greatest album ever.
