Relentless is an amazing song. I can't believe I've ignored the self-titled SYL album for so long.

True dat. Looks amazing, I will seriously listen to this non-stop for weeks when it comes out.

It's a pretty cool song. It has amazing vocals and doesn't afraid of anything.
Cole: "Ow I just got hit in the balls"
Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?

^ i think i like it even more on the live EP, where Dev sings the verses. i have nothing against Anneke van Giersbergen (in fact, i love her work with The Gathering a lot), but the guy just fucking belts out those melodies that are much more subdued on the record, and the song just crushes (lol) even more.

Agree, I like Devin's singing on the verses more.  At least we can all agree that Kingdom live kicks the shit out of Kingdom studio, right?

I just found this, turns out someone posted the VIP show I went to in October! The video quality isn't that great (it was DARK in that room) but the audio sounds fine. It was an awesome night, and lots of chatting between songs, check it out.

Part 1 - Coast
Part 2 - Terminal
Part 3 - Ih-Ah!
Some Chatting/Q&A (I think this goes here)
Part 4 - Sister
Part 5 - Ki

Edit: Q&A goes before Sister

I was looking through Devy's discog just now and realized I don't think (or at least remember) we've ever done a list for our highlight track from each individual album.

GOGOGOGO!

Ocean Machine - Night
Infinity - Bad Devil
Physicist - Kingdom
Terria - The Fluke/Earth Day
Accelerated Evolution - Deadhead/Storm
Synchestra - Triumph
Ziltoid - Color Your World (recently overtook my seemingly infinite love for By Your Command)
Ki - Disruptr
Addicted - Awake!!
I felt its length in quite a few places.

...my name is Araragi.

I was sitting a traffic light blaring Space Dye Vest and next to me in another car was Kevin Moore. And I'll never be open again.

The only odd one I saw on that list was Down & Under. Of course, it's awesome, but it's a strange choice on an album with Mountains, Earth Day, Deep Peace, Canada, The Fluke, Nobody's Here, and Stagnant.

I dunno, I just really love D&U's atmosphere. For me, It actually has 10 more plays than the 2'nd most played song on Terria.

edit: also SYL

HAARHT - Drizzlehell
City - All Hail the New Flesh
SYL - Relentless (2:00 = so hevy brah)
Alien - Shine
TNB - Almost Again

Out of what I have by Strapping:

City-All Hail the New Flesh
Alien-Shitstorm (Posessions might take this spot soon, though)
The New Black-Tie between Far Beyond Metal and The New Black

i was initially resistent to doing this, but then i caved:

OM - "Bastard" (still the best epic the guy's written, imo)
Infinity - "Dynamics" (can't beat the massiveness + lyrics)
Christeen - "Sit in the Mountain" (why does no one else love this song?!)
Physicist - "Namaste" (it was either this or "Planet Rain," and this one is less annoying)
Ass-sordid Demos - "Promise" (wish it was on OM or something)
Terria - "Earth Day" (are there other options on this album? really?)
AE - "Deadhead" (one of the most unique songs in the Dev catalog)
Project EKO - "Assignable" (great little EP-style release, i want more of it!)
Devlab - track 13 (one of very few discernible bits of music on the whole thing)
Ass-sordid Demos II - "Soft" (it's too bad this didn't end up on Infinity or something, despite its reuse in "Ki")
Synchestra - "Judgement" (surprised anyone would pick "Vampira" over about half this record)
The Hummer - "Equation" (has cool synths and a really awesome, mellow piano at the end)
ZTO - "The Greys" (or "Solar Winds")
Ki - "Terminal" (but closely followed by "Ain't Never Gonna Win" and "Winter")
Addicted - "Supercrush" (follow closely by "Numbered" and "Hyperdrive")

HAARHT - "Critic" (SO underrated)
City - "Underneath the Waves" (again, criminally underrated)
NSTB - "In the Rainy Season" (the ending is SO MUCH MORE EPIC)
SYL - "Aftermath" (although i wish it didn't drag on so much in the second half)
Alien - "Love" (the extended version)
TNB - "Almost Again" (although i really love "Polyphony," it's only a piece of a song)

Is it wrong that I don't like SYL? SYL is the main reason it took me forever to get into Devin's solo stuff, because I was scared it would resemble SYL too much, and I didn't want to waste my time with something I knew I didn't like.

The New Black in particular. I used to have that album, and I pretty much hated it. Thank God his solo stuff is better.
