What a shame.

In Punk we Trust.

Team Part time wins the Gold... and it's all the casual fan's fault....

Can't wait until Saturday.... the very, very small fed that I book starts back up. I write better shit than this without even trying. But I don't have millions of dumbass fans to pander to. WWE = Business.

Yeah, business-wise Vince couldn't be more stoke. He's gonna line his pockets this year now.

By the way, losing to the People's Elbow is just as lame as losing to Hogan's leg drop.

^ Seriously. At least it could have been another Rock Bottom. Losing on account of an elbow drop = weak sauce.

Hasn't there been talk of a new WWE championship belt?  I seem to recall reading a rumor.  If so, maybe Rock wins at Wrestlemania and leaves, thus retiring the (non)spinner belt and opening the door for the new belt.

Orange County Choppers Rick Petko is rumored to have made a new one and they're just waiting for when to debut it. He tweeted a photo of it being made awhile ago.

I'd say now would be the perfect time to debut it.

Lame.  Predictable, but lame.

And I agree that the people's elbow is lame.  One of the most lame finishers ever, but the Rock does it, so most think it's awesome.

It should be a towards the end of the match move/spot like the Five Knuckle Shuffle.

I mean, spinebuster. People's Elbow, stalk opponent as he's getting up, Rock Bottom, profit.

So Punk dominates the match, but a people's elbow finishes him off? Ugh, I like The Rock, but that was a lame way for Punk to lose the belt.

So, I know youtube comments are braincell melters, but I read a few saying that that wasn't The Shield who interfered, with one saying it was Lesnar. Anyone think that's true?

I didn't see any of last night's PPV (like I'd ever pay for a WWE PPV, and I was out all evening anyway), but I guess it's good that Punk dominated the match at least.  Putting someone over doesn't always mean just losing to them.  You can put someone over and still beat them.  Many forget that Hogan used to put people over left and right in the 80s.  Sure, he'd always "hulk up" and win the match, but he'd often make them look like a million bucks before that by getting dominated in the match.

Oh, he'll still manage Lesnar when he begins appearing again (I have a feeling he will appear tonight), because Lesnar doesn't know how to do promos so he needs him.

I'm done with the WWE. Cena winning again rustled my jimmies beyond belief. Fuck them, I don't even care about who is champion now.
I imagined the story to go more like this.

I was sitting a traffic light blaring Space Dye Vest and next to me in another car was Kevin Moore. And I'll never be open again.

Welcome to me about 4-5 years ago.  There hasn't been anything that's captivated my interest for a real long time.  Very few good characters, no good story lines, no new talent development.  Can't remember if there was any tipping point, but I pulled the ripcord on them a long time ago.  Not sure they'll ever be able to recapture the magic of the Monday Night wars, or the Attitude era.

Toothless Agrression FTW!!!

The Spinebuster isn't a finisher and Punk didn't take enough damage for that to finish him off.

Whereas giving him fifteen seconds to recover and then hitting him with an elbow was enough to finish him off?

Can we make a list of the lamest way to lose a match?

I've got the People's Elbow, Hogan's leg drop and Dusty's bionic elbow at the top so far.

Eh, at least Hogan's and Rhodes' finishers originated back in the early 80s, back when even a simple suplex or a body slam would often be a finishing move.  Finishers have come a long way since the 80s, so for the people's elbow to be the main finisher of The Rock (who got big in the late 90s/early 00s) was pretty weak.

Personally, someone needs to bring back the Indian deathlock. :metal

I beg to differ.  He never put anyone over.  That was just his schtick, it was the same thing every match.  Come out like gangbusters, the bad guy would get in a cheap shot and dominate for 5 minutes, then HH would "hulk up" and win with a leg drop.  He didn't put anyone over, even when he lost.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

I disagree.

Are you gonna tell me he didn't put The Ultimate Warrior over?  Or The Undertaker (who was still kind of a weird heel until he beat Hogan for the title and became a bigger star)?

What about Randy Savage at WM V?  Everyone in the world knew that Hogan was gonna win that match, but Savage came out of it looking as good as an ex-champion can possibly look.

He also worked programs, for example, with up-and-comers like Big Boss Man and Curt Hennig (who went on to have two long I-C title reigns after his feud with Hogan), instantly elevating them in stature in the WWF.

Dropping the Dime is pretty terrible.
