WWE needed a way to explain his lack of appearances (since his contract has a very specific number of appearances and they want to use him for WM29).

But, after the Heyman promo on Raw, I thought he could disappear and not many people would be wondering why.

i'm sure its still all part of the story line, but what would facing HHH again prove?

Maybe have him come back and challenge the Taker and his streak at Wrestlemania ?

It would mean another "high profile" match for HHH, he loves that doesn't he?

I know HHH does, but what incentive is their for Lesnar to face HHH again, he beat him, he made him tap.

If they are using the " I quit " Video from Raw saying he has nothing left to prove to the WWE why come back again to face HHH?

I don't know, they'll use some kind of "wrestling logic" to make it work.

What I find funny, being someone who also follows MMA and saw most of Lesnar's fights, is that the kimura is now his finishing move. He wasn't a submission fighter at all while in the UFC, using more his wrestling and pure brute strength, obviously, and he only finished one fight by submission.

It's not real - Brock's contract was for a certain number of appearances on RAW/PPVs.  I can't remember the exact number though.

It's stupid, because he did the same damn thing after he lost to Cena. ::)

Because he's Vince son in law....just kidding though  loved him as a wrestler but since he came into the McMahon family he seems to be alot more self promoting

So, the King collapsed tonight on Raw while on commentary. It was scary to hear such silence and Cole break character completely, I got a flashback to Owen Hart but thankfully, Lawler appears to be stable and responsive in the hospital.

EDIT: It's being confirmed that he had a heart attack.

Lawler is universally regarded as one of the nicest people in the business. Vince once said that Lawler is the most complete individual in wrestling history based on everything that he has done of a career that has crossed 5 different decades, to include reffing, wrestling, booking, promoting and commentating.

^ Good points, man.  It's just sad that JR had to go off on some douche on Twitter who'd said that this was all a work.

While I gauged the severity of the situation based on how they were handling it (as well as many others), I could see how some people could initially think that it was a work. Lawler was playing a pretty sizable part in the current CM Punk storyline. And the WWE has has crazy stuff par to the course in the past such as Vince blowing up in a limo, and Vince getting crushed/buried alive by the set to end the money giveaway.

And the WWE have attributed real life injuries to wrestler to make them works. And they've done some pretty distasteful works like "Jeff Hardy fell down a stair well" and "Eddie Guerrero's mom had a heart attack at a house show".

I just hope they don't even fathom making this part of the CM Punk storyline.

I have to admit, I had a moment where I wasn't sure.  It was just because earlier on Raw Punk had said "How are you feeling this week, Jerry?"

Anyway, here's hoping for a full and speedy recovery.
Sincerely,
Jaffa

Oh, trust me - it could've EASILY been a work... until the camera panned to Kane (VERY briefly out of character) looking over at the announce table shortly after Jerry collapsed and until Cole majorly broke character and only gave updates on Jerry for the rest of RAW.

Yeah, they've had some pretty "rough" storylines with The King in the past, using his son against him.. but there is no way I could see Jerry signing off on a work such as this. If they did, I'd probably lose any respect for the creative team.

Jim Ross and Stacy "The Kat" Carter are both reporting positive news that Jerry suffered no brain damage. Michael Cole posted an update that he spoke with Jerry this afternoon and that "The strap" will be coming down soon.

That was SO touch and go, though - especially with them doing CPR on him for 20 minutes.

While Jerry "The King" Lawler, the character, has always been an entertaining wrestler and commentator, I have heard too many negative things about Jerry Lawler the man, so I can't exactly fake it and act like this had any real impact on me at all, but you never want to see anyone go through something like that, so it's good to see he is doing well, all things considered.

Sheamus made D-Bry tap tonight. Clean.

My Sheamus hating levels are reaching 2007 Cena status.
I imagined the story to go more like this.

I was sitting a traffic light blaring Space Dye Vest and next to me in another car was Kevin Moore. And I'll never be open again.
