Oh. Well, they're supposed to be the last five album covers (excluding Lifted) in chronological order.

They're playing at the RAH in June, but even the cheapest tickets are 30 quid. Sorry, not worth it.

I'm going to that, my tickets were less than 30 quid I'm pretty sure

Hey double post.

I gave Fevers & Mirrors my full attention last night, 'twas good! The "interview" at the end was pretty funny :lol

I also listened to the Four Winds EP and it had some pretty nice songs on it! Working through Letting off the Happiness now.

YES!!!!!! All the new stuff was fantastic, and I thought ending with One for You, One For Me (especially with the closing monologue) was about the perfect way to close it out.

Oh and Nate Walcott deserves an award for his horn playing. That shit was beautiful.

If you want a more specific album to listen to, everyone seems to love I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning first.  Digital Ash in a Digital Urn might work better for you, though.

If you liked the People's Key, you're probably bound to like whichever one you pick up.

Lifted or The Story is In the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Ground is a fantastic album, as well as Fevers and Mirrors.

I own several Bright Eyes albums, and the only one that doesn't WOW me is I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning.

I dunno why, but the others I own, which are Fevers and Mirrors, Lifted, Digital Ash, and The People's Key, just sound so much better to me. *Shrugs* Maybe it'll grow on me.

But the stuff I like from them (him), I love. It's a tie between Digital Ash and Lifted for my favorite, with Fevers close behind :)

Weird. I still think I'm Wide Awake is far and away Conor's best record.

oh and Cassadaga hasn't been mentioned. Make sure you check that one out, it's lovely.

Definitely. I'm gonna hunt down his whole discography.

I just can't get into I'm Wide Awake. I've given it about 5 or 6 full listens, but my reaction is still "Meh." It's a good album, but everything else I've heard just stands out so much more to me.

A part I really love in The People's Key is this segment of "Approximate Sunlight":

Quote
I used to dream of time machines
Now it's been said we're post-everything
As a child imagining
Neck ties and Coast lines
I seen the show man, what a sight
Dreanched us in approximated sunlight
The crowd was small and mostly blind
But kind, you're too kind

The lyrics, the melodies, the delivery...

I've listened to The People's Key, like, twice a day since it came out

this album is ridiculous

Also, how about some Lime Tree appreciation

So I just won't
won't be late
the window closes, shock rolls over
in a tidal wave

and all the color
drains out of the frame
so pleaaaassed
with a daaaaydreeeaaam
that now living's no good

I took off my shoes and
walked into the woods
I felt lost and found with
every step I took

We're going to a party!  It's a birthday party!  It's your birthday party!  Happy Birthday darling, we love you very, very, very, very, very, very, very much!

Really been diggin I'm Wide Awake... these days, should I go straight to the new album or continue with older stuff?  Digital Ash in a Digital Urn sounds pretty cool.
