Since the tragic passing of A7X’s drummer Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan, the band turned to legendary Dream Theatre drummer Mike Portney in to help with the recording of their latest record Nightmare, and also at their recent live shows. Mike was only ever going to be a temporary stand-in though, and recently the 2009, the band turned to legendary Dream Theatre drummer Mike Portney band announced that they were on the look out for someone else to take his place. In a message on their website today, Avenged revealed that Arin Ilejay will be banging the drums with them at their forthcoming live dates.“We recently asked several friends who knew Jimmy and his style, and also knew our music and each of our personalities to suggest drummers to tour with,” said Avenged in a statement today.“Our long time studio drum tech, Mike Fasano, recommended Arin Ilejay. We've rehearsed with Arin and have been impressed with his technical skills, attitude and work ethic.” “We're very excited to tour with Arin and hope all of you will give him the warm welcome to the family we have.”
The world is a stage, but the play is badly cast.
This does make the lack of announcement of a new DT drummer a little bit galling.

You Americans feed the bears with bacon! That's why they've grown so ferocious!

Takes a little longer.
Gadough isn't Hitler. He's much, much worse.
I felt its length in quite a few places.
This doesn't particularly irritate me in regards to DT, but it does surprise me that A7X has already named a new permanent drummer when one of the grounds for dismissing MP was that they were not ready to make someone a permanent member yet.

It says he will be filling in on the remaining tour dates.
Glad they found someone. Now maybe people will stop fucking asking me if Mike Portnoy left Dream Theater to join Avenged Sevenfold.
Really? I'm the first one to point out that they called them Dream Theatre?
(Our) friends have introduced us to several amazing drummers. We have decided to take one of them out starting in January. He will not be a member of a7x. He will be someone you and we are getting to know. Perhaps this drummer will be a fit. Perhaps not. One thing is for sure. Over time we will find someone who helps us continue our quest to make the music we love for the fans we love.

women cops are a joketo get a boner is just put pressure on the dick
No, I was making a joke based on how you spelled "Fatez"
They're really none too ready to commit to a permanent drummer, are they?Understandably, of course, given all that happened. Still, would be weird if they turned into a sort of tragic Spinal Tap.

Any body else notice the article had "Dream Theatre?"
Joe and I in the same squad is basically the virtual equivalent of us plowing a rape van through an elementary school playground at recess.
