Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

I love this scene.

Nobody fucks with the Jesus!

Great great film, everything the Coen brothers' make seems to turn out top notch. True Grit looks amazing, can't wait to see it!

In answer to the poll, I think definitely the Dude for me. I'm pretty laid back for the most part.

Is this your homework larry?
I imagined the story to go more like this.

I was sitting a traffic light blaring Space Dye Vest and next to me in another car was Kevin Moore. And I'll never be open again.

I picked Maude because I dressed as her once for a Big Lebowski themed birthday party.

Yeah, my friend is just a tad obsessed with the movie.  We all dressed up as characters from the movie and went bowling.   :lol

He actually never says "Donny" here. He was talking to one of the Coen brothers when one of them called for a cut in the middle of the scene. They caught it on camera and liked it so much they kept it.

"Uh, I'm just gonna go find a cash machine..."

Arguably the funniest movie ever (it is neck and neck with The Holy Grail).  It is one of those rare movies where literally every scene, every line, is funny in some way.

And for the last several years, I have been pretty much been naming all of my fantasy football teams The Achievers.  I did go with Little Lebowski Urban Achievers one or two years, but it was too long, so I shortened it.

Sorry to rain on everyone's parade, but I saw the movie a bit over a year ago (September 2009) and...I really couldn't get into it. Sure, it had a few funny moments, but the whole thing just felt really...weird.

This isn't a laugh out loud movie from start to finish on the first viewing like some comedies are (The Naked Gun, for example).  There are so many clever and subtle idiosyncrasies with each character, you don't really catch them on the first viewing, but after repeated watchings, once you really know the characters, that stuff becomes easier to detect, and as a result, the movie becomes that much funnier.  This is easily one of the two or three movies I randomly quote the most in everyday life.

The problem though is that there was nothing in the movie that would make me even consider watching it a second time.

I feel far ya. Probably seen this film 15 times and it never fails to amuse me (you pick up more stuff each time indeed).
