Thinking that any song from BFII is bad is the wrong opinion and you are wrong for having it.

Except Some Day

And Miss U

Some Day's chorus is a bit eh, but the verses are great.

Miss U is awesome!

You better have been saying that as Sheila Broflovski.

Exactly :lol

I originally wrote it out as WATWATWAT but then I realized I'd written "twat" twice.

good thing you fixed it then, because there's a three twat minimum.

So I've been listening to all three Blackfield albums on heavy rotation since the killer Portland show and the diagnosis is this: Welcome To My DNA is now my favorite by far. Those songs went over so well live that I now listen to them differently. It's like I'm listening to a completely new album all over again. It's a work of art.

I wouldn't say it's my favorite, but seeing them live definitely made a huge difference for me as well.

Would someone who doesn't like Blackfield I like Welcome to My DNA?  I know it probably sounds like an obvious question but I'm strapped for cash and would rather ask someone in the know.

I dunno, it's just all the same thing: all dreary and mellow and morose.  I have no problem with mellow as long as it's happy once in a while, or at least not "Oh my God I want to kill myself" all the time. :lol

Then you probably won't like WTMDNA. It even includes Go To Hell, written by Aviv for his parents.  :lol

I listened to Epidemic yesterday and enjoyed it, but then a couple other songs on the same album were kind of boring. Do they have more songs like Epidemic?

No problem.  ;) If you are that type of person who gets depressed easily then Blackfield probably isn't for you. But some people find beauty in sadness. Imo, WTMDNA is a masterpiece.

Well, all three Blackfield albums are very similar and I don't think Aviv or SW will change anything about their formula anytime soon. Blackfield is Blackfield so you know what to expect. Just letting you know.

How much have you listened to it? There are still a couple tracks I'm not crazy about, but I started to like it a lot more after a while... and after seeing them live again.

Welcome to MY DNA is an ok album. I still like it, and I think its one of their more consistent albums, but the songs themselves aren't as strong as many on the previous two albums.

Also I totes had a dream last night I was making out with this girl and Blood was playing because for some reason dream-me totally thought that sad depressing music is appropriate for making out.

Also the girl was someone I went to high school with except now she had a skullet. Man, that was a really weird dream, now that I think about it...
