I have to say, I wasn't overly wild about that song. The verses were nice and moody, very Blackfield-like, but the chorus was so wordy, it came off as more clunky than anything.  Hopefully, it will grow on me.

Good song! I was kind of surprised to be honest.

Someone in the Youtube comments said that Aviv confirmed in an interview that they're touring with Steven Wilson next year. I can't find the interview, so I'm going to take it with a grain of salt, but it would be great if this was true.

How is that related to Blackfield, seeing as SW isn't even a member anymore? :P

Not so sure about this one. Didn't really care that much for the DNA-one either. Mainly because I can't stand Aviv's vocals.  :-\

After clicking on the samples link above, I have to say I'm a bit disappointed by how short Blackfield IV is. 31 minutes. Especially as it's a full-price album. We'll be getting over twice this much music with DT12, for near enough the same price. The songs are beautiful, don't get me wrong, but the fact they're so short is one of the most frustrating things.

Er, there are never going to be long Blackfield songs. That's kind of the point. And I'm willing to bet I will enjoy it more than the new DT (if I even buy that), regardless of length.

Something about Aviv's vocals are just so relaxing. I absolutely love XRay (Vincent has got to be one of the best vocalists ever). I'm really digging Lost Souls too. Blackfield just has some beautiful music. It's simple...but beautifully crafted :)

Let us be real, without Wilson, Blackfield is going to suck. We're all thinking it, even those that have been hopeful about Aviv.
"All great works are prepared in the desert, including the redemption of the world. The precursors, the followers, the Master Himself, all obeyed or have to obey one and the same law. Prophets, apostles, preachers, martyrs, pioneers of knowledge, inspired artists in every art, ordinary men and the Man-God, all pay tribute to loneliness, to the life of silence, to the night." - A. Aviv was always the best part of Blackfield and this comment is just nonsense. The new Blackfield is great.

I'll have to check out the new album sometime. I'm not a big fan of BF but every album has at least one or two really good tracks. Waving is a godly song.

Got the new album from iTunes last night. After one listen, I'm pretty impressed. I wasn't expecting it to suck, but I wasn't expecting something this good. My favorites upon first listen are X-Ray and Sense of Insanity but the whole album is incredibly solid. It probably won't end up being better than I or II for me, but I may end up enjoying it more than DNA (which I also love).

Wilson only wrote one song on the last album if I remember correctly, and although it's one of the best ones IMO, a Blackfield album lacking Wilson's influence is old news.

Guys, I went into the store today to buy this and "Jupiter" was playing! It's growing on me, and I'm on my first listen of the whole album right now.

I'm a bit disappointed to find no download code that came with my vinyl.

Lost Souls
Sense of Insanity
Jupiter
X-Ray
Springtime
Pills
After the Rain
The Only Fool is Me (would be higher if Aviv did vocals)
Faking
Firefly
Kissed by the Devil

I still like Welcome to My DNA better, but this album is "Pretty darn good", as Zantera says ;)
