Well.. that just better not happen. It's a damn shame that Community is stuck in the opening spot of the night while drivel like Outsourced gets that sweet Office lead in.

Nice to see another Warming Glow reader :metal

It's stunning what type of humor the average person would rather watch than something that is actually well written.

Hey let's take this fairly amusing but not great comedy movie and stretch it unbearably thin with jokes and premises that are sure to last...four episodes!

Posted this at 5/8, so might as well here.  Kudos if you get it without any hints:

"The Politics of Human Sexuality"
Air Date: December 3, 2009

"The Psychology of Letting Go"
Air Date: October 7, 2010

Holy shit.

I thought the last episode was weak.  2nd or 3rd worst of the season.  The show's not back on for another three weeks I think, so I thought I'd take the opportunity to list my five favourite episodes thus far:

1. Cooperative Calligraphy
2. Mixology Certification
3. Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas
4. Contemporary American Poultry
5. Conspiracy Theories and Interior Design

This show had one hell of a run in November/December.

Not every episode is going to be the best ever.  NBC needs a wake-up call though...putting Community against Big Bang Theory is a travesty.  I have a DVR so I watch both shows, but if they just did something as simple as move Community to 8:30 and moved the current crap fest they have at that time, I think things would improve.

It's an extremely in-joke, but here we go:

In "The Politics of Human Sexuality", there's a barely-there joke about the condoms the dean was handing out being defective, and he tells Abed to warn the entire school. He opts to say something along the lines of "The condoms are broken, so if you must have sex tonight, please don't use condoms".

In "The Psychology of Letting Go", there's an entire subplot that takes place without any dialogue, only in the background, of Abed befriending a pregnant girl who then gives birth later in the episode.

Sure, it's about a month late, but hey, I was a big baby and came three weeks late, so it's not unheard of. Anyway, it's an amazing joke for people who really dissect the episodes. Possibly even better than Abed's Robocop memos and Decision Gate's crawl put together.

I imagined the story to go more like this.

I was sitting a traffic light blaring Space Dye Vest and next to me in another car was Kevin Moore. And I'll never be open again.

But I have to say the D&D episode was one of the most painfully written things I've ever watched. Simply awful.

Really? I thought this would be a shared sentiment. They just threw a random fat guy into the episode and expected me to care about the character and the situation at hand. I know nothing about this character, why should I care? Why should I care that any of this is happening? Am I cheering for him? Why? Why did you have to tell me everything that had led up to that point instead of showing me?

It's just poor writing.

The only problem I had with that episode (and Community lately in general) is that Pierce is becoming so one dimensionally, completely evil that it really makes me wonder why he's still part of the group.

I found the last couple of episodes disappointing. First half of the season was gold though.

As much as it hurts to say, the characters are becoming more Flanderized. Pierce is evil. Britta is counter-culturally rebelious. Jeff is amoral, but is starting to learn to love his friends (for the past 18 months). Shirley... Isn't there, really. I still love the show, but I feel like the found one characteristic for each of the cast members and said "We'll run with this!"
