( ) is one of the greatest albums of all time in my opinion. The different moods it takes the listener through in only 70 minutes is just incredible. Vaka and Popplagiš are my favourites I think.

I saw them live for the first time on the ( ) tour without ever having heard them. I read a little article in one of the local Portland newspapers a couple hours before the show and decided to go by myself based on that article. Wow! is all I can say about that experience. Looking back I can't believe they didn't sell out. Of course now they sell out much bigger venues. But in 2003 they were still very much underground. Anyway, seeing/hearing them play the songs off that album live was a mind blowing experience. I regard this album to be their masterpiece.

Bumping to say that I've been spinning ( ) again this weekend for the first time in a long while, and wow.
It's easily one of the most emotional albums I own, and I love it how all songs flow perfectly into each other and how they are slightly similar, but still unique in their own ways.
It really feels like a long emotional journey, a very epic journey.
Untitled 7 is just my favorite, for many reasons, especially the ending and the way Jonsi sings the last words, it's really haunting.  :heart

Yeah, the ending is really what makes that awesome song absolutely amazing. I have this unofficial fan-made "release" called ( ) Reversed. If you have Audacity or so you can easily do this yourself.. Try it with Untitled 7 for some real mindfuck.

Bump to say Višrar Vel Til Loftįrįsa is the best song in all post-rock. Seriously, when the bowed guitar comes in... :hefdaddy :hefdaddy

That may be true. VVTL is definitely my favourite Sigur Rós song; which reminds me that I should practice it on piano sometime again soon.

Untitled VII is my personal favorite, but I've only heard ( ) and Takk.
The ending of that song is just so majestic, and the way Jonsi sings the last lines always manages to send shivers down my spine.  :hefdaddy

I AM A GUY
You're a fucking stupid bitch.
Orion....that's the one with a bunch of power chords and boringly harsh vocals, isn't it?

Well, I'm pretty sure Ara Batur is now in my top 5 songs of all time. I'm seeing them live in March, it cannot come soon enough.

I love that song to pieces. Just a lovely piece of music-the build that begins at about the five minute mark and then gets so HUGE when first the choir, and then the orchestra comes in, is one of my favorite bits of music ever. Gonna play it now, in fact!

The bones of beasts and the bones of kings become dust in the wake of the hymn.
Mighty kingdoms rise, but they all will fall, no more than a breath on the wind.

I know, it's so simple in its structure, but has such a huge impact.
