How cute.  People pretending soccer is football.

Oh you...
I imagined the story to go more like this.

I was sitting a traffic light blaring Space Dye Vest and next to me in another car was Kevin Moore. And I'll never be open again.

Football = American Football in USA
Football = "Soccer" in the rest of the world

This is clearly one of these moments when USA is all like "We're biggest, we're the best and what we say is right".

Didn't see the game, but I'll catch up on Match of the Day tonight! Looks like I was pretty close with my prediction for the match though. Good for Utd, and at least it makes City less of a threat to us (Arsenal), but it also makes Utd harder to catch.

Yup. Well actually... american football is MUCH closer to rugby than football. It's like fattier version of rugby. Less running, more homoerotic humping. Oh, and like a tonne of protective gear vs little to none in rugby.

So it should be called Anglo-american fatty rugby.

I don't pay much attention to the Premier League. I follow Serie A and La Liga much closer. I don't really have a fav english team..

You don't need to follow La Liga as there's only 2 teams in it.

Pain is temporary. Pride is forever.

Huh?

He did miscalculate, he took a terrible touch in the buildup to the goal.

NOOO

I can't believe my team lost to Juve tonight. Eto'o had two chances and blew them both. Still he was the only good player on the pitch.

 >:(

The Serie A isn't lost yet though..

ARSENAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLL! :D

What a match! The middle third of the game was a bit slow going as 10 minutes after Barcelona scored they sat back and Arsenal got a bit desperate, but the opening and closing 25-30 minutes were terrific stuff. I almost don't care whether we even qualify now, we finally beat Barca! :)

That was a great game. Barcelona was pretty weak during the last twenty to thirty minutes, though. A deserved victory for Arsenal imo.

Yeah they did throw it away a bit. A 2-1 win is pretty fair I think, although a 2-2 draw would have probably been more representative as Barca were the better team for large parts of the game, and especially considering their disallowed goal was almost certainly onside. But we played well and dug deep, so I'm happy!

I'm guessing no, but did anyone catch any of the Roma - Shaktar Donetsk match? They had it on another TV in the pub, and it looked hilarious, some of the goals were just a result of really terrible defending. Just a complete world apart from the Arsenal - Barca game. :lol

I'm so happy that Arsenal won yesterday, both me and my dad screamed like crazies when Arshjavin scored the 2-1 goal.
There isn't a team in the whole world that I hate more then Barcelona, and for many reasons.
First off, it's how they think that they are better then everyone else, and that they are 'gods' amongst normal football players, then we have the phenomenon 'falling like a brick when I feel wind in my back', a phenomenon that players like Busquets, Villa, Xavi, Pedro, Messi, Iniesta, Dani Alves and co. displays in every game.
Then we have the funny thing that as soon as Messi falls down, 5-6 Barcelona players runs up to the person who 'tackled', and gives them the look "How do you DARE to touch GOD?".
And no, Barcelona doesn't play the 'best football in the world'.
Passing the ball around sideways for 10 minutes before creating a goal-chance isn't entertaining, it's like watching Oprah-reruns at 4 in the morning, not falling asleep is impossible.
And what really showed the world what scumbags they are, was the whole Fabregas-incident last summer.
They really expected Arsenal to sell him for pretty much 0 cash, and when they got a no, they were like "He has our DNA, blabla", funny enough Barcelona sold him X years ago with no interest in him, suddenly they thought that Arsenal would screw him over.

And lets not forget this "Barcelona is the best team in the world"-nonsense, seriously.. Inter are the champions until another team proves them wrong, which will be in a new CL-final.
You can't be the best team in the world simply by winning over shitty teams in the Spanish-League, it's a fact that the Spanish League is one of the worst, and players only go there because it makes it easier when you just have to flip a coin with Real Madrid every year.

About the game I thought Barcelona did a better first half, though Arsenal completely destroyed them in the second.
I don't even recall Barcelona creating any chances in the second, so Arsenal surely did something right. :)
I was really impressed with Wilshere, Koscielny and Szczesny, I think they all performed very well.
If Arsenal can take the second half with them, I'm pretty sure they can make it.
And I really hope so, Barcelona are the scumbags of the football-world, and I'll have a lot of cake if the team that beats them is Arsenal.  :hefdaddy

:lol I don't hate Barca like you do, but I'm still glad to hear you're on Arsenal's side here! And yeah I though Wilshire and Szczesny were absolutely top-notch last night, they both have so much class and confidence for such youngsters. Koscielny was mostly good (made some really important challenges) but our defense in general did have a couple of weaker moments that we were lucky to get away with.

Most people would've bet 3 million dollars on Arsenal winning Carling Cup, that's pretty much how insane favorites they were.
If they can't win the titles that are being handed over to them, how are they going to win CL or PL? :P
I'm sure they'll advance to the next round in CL, and they do have a good schedule for PL, but it seems like they're only being stopped by themselves all the time.

Yeah Koscielny's error was ridiculous. :lol

But in terms of being massive favourites, the bookies were very disproportionate there. Birmingham have been doing very well in the cups and they are one of those teams who often upset us (West Ham do it a lot as well). I wasn't surprised that they tried so much harder than us, or that they won, I'm just surprised at how ridiculous the winning goal was, and after we have been completely dominating for half an hour. Shame really.
