Sure but Nigeria were always going to fight (and they may be 33rd in the world but they attack nicely), plus the USA didn't need to wipe the floor with them. They still topped the group comfortably.

Good lord, the England women's team make things as hard for themselves as the men's do! Playing well, reasonably comfortable 2-0 lead, then in injury time concede a sloppy goal and the last minute or so is utterly nerve-wracking!

Still, through in 2nd place with 6 points, so not bad!

Germany looking pretty comfortable here, 3-0 and Sweden just don't seem like they're really trying very hard.

Looked very good though in the end. 4:1 is good.

Initially I was going to try to watch he France-Korea game, but 8 minutes in it was already 2:0. It was probably a totally uneven game.
USA-Colombia is probably going to be rather one-sided too.

Sweden was an embarrassment in this World Cup. I had way higher hopes for them.

Not great against Norway so far - first 5 minutes we looked bright and energetic but subsequent 15 we've been very much on the back foot. Fairly tight game so far though.

Having said all that, England came alive in the last half hour and looked much better. And Bronze's winning goal was fantastic, especially for a right back!

Feel a bit sorry for Norway as I really liked them and thought they've been a strong side in this world cup, but they seemed to lose all confidence once we equalised.

Well the Dutch team are out by Japan. Besides some gruiling horrible defending mistakes and a midfield that just kept passing the ball to the opponent, I think there's potential in this team. They're young, obviously have some good skills up front and for a first world cup, making it out of the group stage is a good start. But they're a long ways from being top 5.

I attended the Canada - England match. As a Brit who has been a long time citizen of Canada, I support both teams, but I was cheering for Canada all the way in this one. Sadly they couldn't finish their chances.

Yup. They made two blunders early on and found themselves down 2-0. I felt badly for France too. They deserved to go through.
