Heh, another German player retired from the national team (Mertesacker). They probably all figure to go out while on top.

10 players out and some players like Fellaini/Fletcher who should not be in the starting lineup. It's a disappointment, and it might take some time before LvG washes out the Moyes out of the club. It's baffling how much Moyes fucked things up. If Ferguson's career in Man United is summed up as "How I built the best team in the world over 25 years", Moyes should be called "How I completely dismantled a dream team in 12 months".

Oh well, there's gonna be lost points for all top teams and Spurs are having a tough game against West Ham as we speak. Hopefully Man United sign 2-3 players during the week and we bounce back against Sunderland next weekend.

What happened today at the beginning was the type of game that they would've lost last year. But holy sexyness that Cesc pass to Schurrle!

Rojo is going to Man U for about 20M plus Nanni. I also read somewhere they're going to make a big offer for Di Maria. I think both are great additions but they're the team is still lacking some good inside midfielder.

I don't know what to think about Rojo, he's decent I guess. But it's a lot of money, and I would rather see them get Blind. As for Di Maria, he's obviously a big talent, the main questions for me would be 1) how does he fit into this system? will he play as a wingback or central midfielder? 2) is he worth the HUGE pricetag?

Before the World Cup I would have said Rojo was an awful signing but he proved he can play as a wing back and he has played central defender and stopper positions as well so he's quite versatile. I also think Blind would have been a great choice and a more affordable one. As far as Di Maria goes, he was one of Real Madrid's best players if not the best and it's a crime he wasn't nominated for the best player of the season. It doesn't matter how much Man U pay, he's worth it.

Yeah, Di Maria was really good last year. My only thought was that if they were willing to spend that amount of money, they might as well get Vidal in, who's probably a slightly better fit as for what the team needs. But with that said, it's not like the fans will be disappointed if we get Di Maria. It's gonna be some intense days before the window closes.

It kinda depends on what you like about the game. First of all, does it have to be one of the top teams contending for titles or can it be like a smaller team? If you like defensive and tactical games, Chelsea are pretty strong, if you like teams that play a fun attacking football, Liverpool or Arsenal might be more up your alley. If you want a smaller team that plays attacking football you also have teams like Southampton or Swansea that are essentially Liverpool/Arsenal light. Everton is another exciting team if you're looking for a good team that is kind of the underdog, a team that can finish top7, same goes for Tottenham. Or maybe Manchester United if you're interested in a team that just a few years ago was the best and biggest team in the world, had a really tough last season and are now looking to get back on top.

Alright so this weekend's games in the Premier League: (and my predictions)

Today:
12:45 - Aston Villa - Newcastle (X)
15:00 - Chelsea - Leicester (1)
15:00 - Crystal Palace - West Ham (X)
15:00 - Southampton - West Bromwich (1)
15:00 - Swansea - Burnley (1)
17:30 - Everton - Arsenal (X)

Tomorrow:
13:30 - Hull - Stoke (X)
13:30 - Tottenham - Queens Park Rangers (1)
16:00 - Sunderland - Manchester United (2)

Monday:
20:00 - Manchester City - Liverpool (X)

-----------------

The biggest highlight is for sure Man City - Liverpool, which I'll probably miss since it's on a Monday. (god damn you Monday-games) But Everton - Arsenal is another highlight. I think Man United are gonna have a tough game against Sunderland, and might very well continue dropping points. Herrera is injured and the rest of our midfield is pretty much awful, so this will be painful to watch. I'm hoping for a win, we need it badly. But what we need more is signings.

Looks like it's official that Di Maria will go to United now. Ancelotti has confirmed the transfer.

Chelsea took another comfortable win yesterday, and Arsenal managed to get a draw against Everton. Hopefully Man United will take a win today against Sunderland.

Spurs are looking strong. Yeah, Man United really needs 3 points against Sunderland today. I don't even care how we get them as long as we get them. A lot of rumors about Di Maria, Blind and maybe even a third person (Vidal or De Jong) being on their way to the club. I would be really happy with that, but it's important to not screw up the season before these players arrive. 3 Points today and we can move forward from there. I would be thrilled with Di Maria and Blind, I think both would be incredible additions. Vidal is still my dream transfer, but if he isn't possible, I still think De Jong is a fine choice. He's not as good, but he is a solid defensive midfielder, and he has done well both in Man City, Milan and the national team, and Van Gaal knows him.

What a fiasco for Man U, how can you lose 4-0 against such a lousy team? Anyways, it seems they made an offer for Vidal, a very necessary signing for them. They just need to get another good defender now

The starting line-up was pretty bad, but that doesn't justify 4-0. It's a combination of the team having no momentum with the confidence being in the bottom, and having way too much trust in your youngsters who aren't good enough. It's nice that we got Di Maria, but in my opinion we would also need Vidal, Blind and someone like Hummels if this is going to be okay. People bash Smalling and Jones, but Evans was just awful last night. If he is our best defender, this is not good.

Milan is apparently in talks to acquire Fernando Torres (THANK YOU OBAMA) and grabbed Van Ginkel on loan.

With MVG out, the Chelsea midfield has lost depth so I guess they loaned him out to sign someone/bring Pogba. :lol

Smalling, Jones and Evans suck. Getting Hummels would be amazing since in my opinion he is currently the best defender in the planet but I get the feeling he doesn't want to leave BVB. Barcelona already tried for him and he said he didn't want to leave.

They can't be that lousy if they beat Manchester United 4-0. Just because they're in a lower division doesn't make them less good, especially in MK Dons' case, as they've been working their way up through the League system since forming only 10 years ago.

Still, it was an extraordinary evening. With the 6-6 draw in the first round, it seems the League Cup is producing more shocks (and hence entertainment and headlines) than the FA Cup these days, especially after the incredible events of 2012/13.

Okay, apparently Man United has signed a loan deal with Falcao!

That's nice and all but it's defenders and midfielders we need the most :P

If the Falcao deal is real, that came out of the blue. It's hard for me to complain because Rooney have been pretty darn lazy so far, and RvP is far from fit. It does sadden me that Hernandez is going out on loan as well as Kagawa leaving, since both are personal favorites, but I can understand why they will go. I have a feeling we'll see a team like this:

If we're going with 3-5-2:

--------------De Gea---------------
-----Jones----Evans----Rojo-----
-Di Maria-Herrera-Blind-Shaw-
--------------Mata------------------
------RvP/Rooney-Falcao--------

Possibly Blind in the defense instead of either Jones/Evans with Carrick in the midfield.

If we're going with a 4-3-3

-------------De Gea---------------
Rafael-Jones/Evans-Rojo-Shaw
Herrera--Blind/Carrick--Di Maria
-Rooney----RvP/Falcao----Mata-

I'm pretty happy overall, I think the transfers are all really good. I would however be even happier if we could replace Evans or Smalling with a new CB (someone like Hummels) and replace some of the dead weight in the midfield (like Fletcher or Cleverley) with a good CM (possibly Strootman in January?). But we've already taken in so many this window that I don't see it as possible to get those positions until January at best.

I like your first option the most but with Blind on defense, Di Maria where Blind is right now and Januzaj where Di Maria is. Not a lot of defense but with that much offensive power who cares?
