Right, after Orcus had this awesome idea, time for yet another.

My contestants are:

I'm gonna do 8 rounds, and my scoring system is gonna be my favourite gets 6 points, my second favourite 5, then my 3rd and 4th favourite both get 4 each, my 5th and 6th both get 3, my 7th and 8th both 2, and my two least favourites get 1 point each. I hope this way it won't leave one person miles in the lead and basically uncatchable, so it should be a close game until the end.

For a little more info on my taste, I guess what I'm on the lookout for more now is more experimental stuff, but anything slightly funky, jazzy or electronic appeals to me instantly, even better if it's one of those things combined with another genre. I'm not really a huge fan of growls or screaming, but if you think they're used in an effective way, like I'd say Opeth's are, then I'd be fine with giving them a try. I'm not gonna be that pretentious douche who says 'I listen to EVERYTHING' and then laughs snidely at you, but to be honest as long as you justify your choice with why you like it and I might, anything goes here. Heck, even country.

Other than that, I'll have Round 1 as an open round so you can all get a feel for my taste before we get into proper categories, and let's just say the deadline is midnight on Saturday so people get a chance to read this and respond. As for song length in this whole thing, I'm not gonna put a cap or anything, but please try and keep the 15 minute opuses to a minimum for my sake.

Yeah I suppose what I wanted with this open round was just to sort of set the standard for the kind of stuff I like, and from then on it should be easier to make more calculated keeerrrr-azy choices.

Yeah, I have twenty something songs in my head I would consider sending, but I don't really know what you'd like so I just picked something I really like while looking at your Last.FM. It'll be easier the next fex rounds because then I'll have an idea which stuff you really like "discovering". You know?

The song I REALLY want to send sounds like crap on youtube and isn't on grooveshark. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't like it though, as it doesn't seem to be up your alley.

I'm going to send you a song from an album I bought on nothing but some record store dude's opinion, but I'm pretty happy with it so far. No idea what you'll think of it honestly, but since you want stuff that isn't exactly up my alley, I'm going to have be creative.

I do have all the writeups written for stuff now (other than possibly a few edits upon my final listens before I post the results) so once Goon gets his in it should be pretty speedy seeing the results. Not saying that to single out Goon, I'm just saying don't worry about it taking any longer afterwards.
