Have to say, for once I have to agree with the whining masses.
OST's should definitely count (Scott Pilgrim is a good example, and Tron is another).
EPs I can see the reasoning for, but then different bands have completely different definitions. For some bands an album that is only 40 minutes rather than 80 minutes would be an EP, even if it's still a complete work and to all intents and purposes an album. Other bands only release full length albums of 40 minutes and so EPs are just a couple of short songs. Have to say Nick, you kind of argued against yourself with a couple of your posts. You talk about "intent", but having the letters EP on the end doesn't give a black or white categorisation on the "intent" at all. Plus plenty of albums are not "a complete work" but merely a collection of songs, while many EPs are, indeed, a complete work. I think it'd be better to allow EPs that could justifiably be considered albums.
Live albums and compilations are right to be excluded though, naturally, because it should be about original music.
Anyway there's no point in changing it now either way, as so many people have already posted their lists, but it's something to maybe consider for next year.
