Can't get into Clear at all. The production/mastering is so aggressive to my ears, just abrasive. Still digging Periphery II, I'm curious if they can top that one in the future.

Sounds pretty much exactly the same as the production on their other albums to me...

Yeah there is no problem with the production/mastering etc... I can hear everything on Clear very clearly.

I see what you did there.

I don't think it's the clarity that's bugging him; the whole aggressive, mechanical sounding production with the triggered drums definitely isn't for everyone. I'm just confused as to why it's a problem on Clear and not the other albums, as they all have the same general production style.

Yeah that's the sound that has become popular now where everything sounds "perfect" if that makes sense. I personally love it! I love the production on Periphery I. Just an axe fx for the guitars and toontrack for drums. Misha is a great producer.

ya, the three songs i most wanna spin off the EP are summer jam, parade of ashes, and feed the ground.

back to RACECAR. anyone get a tony mac vibe from a bunch of the lead guitar melodies and solos in the closing minutes of the song? i always did.

whoa, trippy! am I actually listening to Jeff Loomis through the end sections (or maybe just a solo and not the melodies)?!
just happened to be reading something about Jeff and discovered he plays on the album, track # RaceCar.

There is finally something happening with Juggernaut! I'm on my cellphone right now, so I won't trouble myself with links, but there are two studio updates on youtube for anyone who didn't know.

Not very much in them, but I'm just happy it's moving forward.

Good to see they are recording the album, but both "studio updates" don't say anything at all, pure studio banter  ;D

I just grow more and more disppointed that Zero doesn't have lyrics every time I hear it. It's pretty cool instrumental tune, but missing something. It would have probably been a fantastic Periphery track with some cool vocals in there.

The composition and structure would have to be completely different for the vocals to make any sense though.

Well at least that is what I expect when a band releases new material.
But it's ok, I guess it has to do with the amount of hate the ep received.

It is very much a confirmed concept album! They have said in various Q&As that both albums are one story with a very complex story revolving a main character, with forshadowings, reoccuring themes spanning both discs, and all the good stuff of a concept album.

They've premiered a new song today "The Scourge" from the upcoming albums  (although I have yet to hear it.. may hold off for the release).
