This is great, pretty much all that I expected from this update and more. I expected tracklisting, album title and cover art and got all that plus an album trailer.

Really looking forward to this album.

spencer is gonna own this record. seriously epic vocals on this short teaser. im pretty sure that entire video is the first track on the album (Muramasa), accoring to spencer, just an intro song to kick off the record. and Have A Blast with guthrie is gonna wreck

Yeah i really dig those layered vocals. Something about it that just grabs you and says "get ready". Not just the vocals but the whole production... July is gonna be a great month

Edit: I remember I was not a huge fan on the vocals a couple years back. I kept saying that I like the instrumental version of the debut album better... But as months go by and after seeing them live, I keep regretting what I said. Now with this trailer out, I really regret it.

they completely rushed the vocals for the first album vocal wise. i think spencer had two weeks to learn, record, and make up vocals for the songs that didnt have them in about 2 weeks. and he was just starting to sing with heavy vocals. now hes greatly improved and he is gonna turn alot of people around who havent seen them live recently

I'm in the category of the people who liked Spencer's vocals on the debut, but from what I've heard of the newer stuff he sounds even better. The Slipknot-cover they did, those vocals!  :hefdaddy
And yeah, Spencer got into the band pretty late when they recorded, all lyrics (I think) were already written, but now he was with the band from scratch, so he could do a much nicer job.  :)

yea things blew up with Chris pretty late into making the debut and Spencer got thrown in nearing a deadline. I know he wrote the jetpacks was yes vocals, not sure about any others though

International Orders will be up soon with their respective non-US labels. Misha posted that on formspring/facebook last night.

And this teaser sounds GREAT.

Thanks for clarifying. I always thought the vocals kind of sounded rushed on the first album but improved on the EP. However, on this trailer there is a huge change.

I like all his clear vocals on 'Periphery' but isn't a huge fan of his growls, they just sound thin, no depth. Hoping that will improve on this one.

Also, from their facebook page:

Just to be clear to all our Peripherals:
The album is officially called Periphery II: This Time It's Personal.
We decided to keep the cover title free, but in the booklet that is the official name.
The forces that be felt that it would be iffy marketing it as that, so press releases and such won't reflect that, so please do us a favor and make sure whenever you refer to the album to refer to it as:
Periphery II: This Time It's Personal
Every time you don't a shitty 80's action movie sequel is forgotten about forever...

That's pretty funny.

they say alot of things though, like Periphery II: Cruise Control. cant ever tell when they are 100% serious. not sure why the labels dont wanna market it though. the band is a bunch of goofy dudes and its definitely an album title you will remember

Well I meant a bundle with CD and LP, from what I saw there it was just CD/bunch of other stuff, or LP/bunch of other stuff. :P
And it's still US only sadly.

Periphery's facebook page:

EUROPE! We're very excited to announce that CENTURY MEDIA RECORDS will be licensing the new album PERIPHERY II: THIS TIME IT'S PERSONAL. Check out the promo video here. Pre-orders coming soon

And then a slighly altered European version of the album trailer:

The European Release gets bonus tracks? Damn.

They also need to release a new track soon. Almost exactly one month until the album is released.

I'm sure they'll have the International pre-orders up within the next few days. Its a month from the release date in the US today, and from what I understand, Europe gets it a day earlier (and Australia a few days earlier than that), so they're under a month now.

Jake posted this on Periphery's facebook today:

Quote
Hey guys, Jake here, I just wanted to make you all aware of 8Dio, they're putting out some of the best new software for creating music digitally. I'm incorporating their sound libraries into my electronic production sound so go ahead and give them a LIKE because I'll be posting sound clips soon! Also it's worth mentioning that the ultra talented Jan Michael Hoeglund just started working with them (check out Jan's fully orchestrated version of Muramasa, the first track from Periphery II: This Time It's Personal https://soundcloud.com/janhoeglund/promiphery-periphery-album)!

Nothing new, just a cool little rendition of the album trailer.

Shorter than I had hoped for. Would be cool to hear the "full band" part in that way too.
