I really have a thing for It's My Tail and I'll Chase it if I want To, actually.  I mean, I love the energy and liveliness behind it (especially since I felt that is exactly what some of the Self Preserved tracks were lacking) and the whole thing really just rocks.  It's got almost a punkish vibe to it.

Yeah, it's really a killer-track.
I also think it works really awesome after Silent/Transparent.

Self-Preserved arrived, listening to it with my new audiophile headphones for my first (Attentive) listen.

On Silent/Transparent at the moment, it's really awesome!

I want to know what the album cover is.

And the album was only signed by 3 of them :(

I'd say it's the front of a woman or something?
At least that's the most reasonable explanation I've heard this far.

Finished Frames, it was pretty cool. The production was a lot more full, I preferred it, and it was a bit catchier though I think overall weaker.

Just starting Everyone into Position, it seems very catchy already, its lacking a bit dynamically though...

half way into Effloresce, after one listen it goes:

Everyone into Position > Self Preserved > Frames.

It's not that it's bad, it's just that the other 3 albums are so fucking amazing.

faemir, I love you and all... but if you start doing album-rankings after one listen, especially with Frames last, I might have to stalk you in your dreams.
ITS ON.  :flame:

Also, Self Preserved is fantastic, and equally as good as the rest.

Oceansize is one of those bands where the EP's are actually better then the albums, something I've never really seen somewhere else.

Well, Music For Nurses and Home & Minor.
There are a few others with B-sides, but those would more fit under the 'Singles'-term.

Second listen of Frames, yum.

I still haven't found a good non-artifacted artwork scan though, I'll need to dust off my scanner.

Frames > Everyone Into Position > Effloresce > Self Preserved

I'd go with the top 3 there, not got Self Preserved yet though.

Fair enough.
Well, make sure you fall in love with this band and document the different stages of fanboyism in this thread like I did.

Yeah, I'd say it's really one of my favorites on the album.
Reminds me of Mastodon for some reason, but I love it how much variety is in that song, seeing how short it is.
Really a great mix of heavy and soft.

A good sign of a new band i like is that even though i dont know their stuff at all, and i'm not thinking every moment on this is awesome, I'm finding more and more bits that I think "hey thats cool", and i didnt get bored of 5 album listens in a row.

The last time this happened was Thrice and they are in my top 5 bands sooo :D

I know what you mean.
Before discovering Oceansize, I used to think that PT was my favorite band, but that quickly changed.

I bought Frames some time ago. I love it.
I'm not sure if i like it more than EiP, though, but it is certainly a fantastic album.

I finally found Red Rag to a Bear and Siberian Bullshit (songs from the Frames-sessions for newbies), and man.. two really fantastic songs.
I just love it how this band has B-sides just as amazing as the songs on their albums.  :hefdaddy
