some fans may be curious about Mike Vennart's new collaboration with Simon Neil of Biffy Clyro, Empire State Bastard.

They signed to Roadrunner.

Vennart wrote the songs and played all the guitar. Lyrics and vocals to be handled by Simon and freakin' Dave Lombardo is handling drums.

beul ni teh efac = Lube In The Face / That has to be wrong.  :lol / EDIT: Oh, it's Blue! I'm an idiot.
Pardon the interruption, but I just had to run in and celebrate the majesty of Lube in the Face as highest moment in roulette history

I'm curious to hear how this sounds but I'm more hyped for the next Vennart album to be honest.

Love Mike, and love everything he's ever released, but that is simply not for me (not into the vocals at all)

I'm slowly getting back to things I love, so if someone knows, why isn't Frames available on Spotify?

Empire State Bastard, British Theatre, Vennart nor many of the Oceansize releases are.

My guess is Mike Vennart doesn't want his music on there. It's too bad per he only loses potential fans because of it, but I understand why he may not want it on Spotify given it doesn't provide any income directly for him and his bands.

Which is great, but, for those of us who want to listen to his music on an app that actually works (the Bandcamp player is complete garbage), he's really making it difficult.

I've purchased multiple copies of Frames over the years, and it kinda sucks that if I want to stream it, I need to go to Youtube.

I'll be honest, I have only ever listened to Frames but I adore it. What album would be a good second album to try? Whether it's on Spotify or not.

Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with anything Oceansize put their name on...but the catalog is pretty varied.

For my money, the Vennart releases are all stellar, and that's where I'd start. I feel like his first and third releases are more in line with with the moodiness of Frames, while the Blizzard album is pure prog glory...that said, all three are pretty flawless.

I would go with Everyone Into Position and Self-Preserved after that. The Vennart solo catalog is pretty solid as well.

That's awesome news!

Frames is, in my opinion, their high-water mark, but Self-Preserved... was a worthwhile follow-up that I've grown more fond of over the years.

Bump for Empire State Bastard (the band with Mike Vennart and Simon Neil from Biffy Clyro and Dave Lombardo).

What do y’all think of them? I had quite low expectations because usually supergroups seem just for fun, as a way to ‘do something else for a change’.

I’m quite impressed actually! Looking forward to their record.
Not 'Down To F***', but 'Dream Theater Forums' .

New Vennart album should be coming in a few months per the latesr newsletter

"In other news, the 4th ‘Vennart’ album will be with you in the coming months. It feels very much like a sequel to ‘In The Dead, Dead Wood’, in that it's fucking ace. You can hear all the demos and exclusive tracks from the album on my Patreon now. There's at least 3 hours of unreleased material on there now."

I don't buy as much CD/Vinyl as I used to but a new Vennart album will be one of the hardest buys of the year for me. Not gonna listen to anything before the album is out, I'll gladly buy whatever the most expensive package for this album turns out to be.

I'm loving this new song.

Honestly, at this point, I rate Vennart's solo releases higher than his work with Oceansize. Fortunately, I am lucky to have it all, but I am beyond happy he has continued to make music on his own.
