So, I'm listening to Frames for the first time. 1:15 into the first track. Been meaning to give this band a shot for such a long time..

I was just listening to Frames today 'cos it's been a while, love that album  :heart

My problem with Frames is that with the exception of T-shirt, Christy's, and Sleeping Dogs, I fucking despise how every song on that album begins, even though they're all good songs. Something about their beginning just makes me cringe so much.

Also, Oceansize still remains the most consistent band I know.
Everything from their albums to every single B-side is just amazing, and this band should work out their differences and start making music again. :/

I still need to check out their other stuff, all I have really listened to at this point is Music for Nurses, Frames, and Self Preserved.

Yeah, you're in for a treat with Efffloresce.

and if you liked Frames you'll really love most of Everyone into Position.

Orion....that's the one with a bunch of power chords and boringly harsh vocals, isn't it?

It's hard to say, even though Frames is my pesonal favorite, I feel like Effloresce and EiP are just as good quality-wise, it's all preferences really.

After listening to some of the EPs I can see what you mean, Zantera. Superfluous to Requirements and Paper Champion in particular have risen to the top of my faves list.

Not for me. My only gripe (not really anything bad but you know) is that it feels too long (TWSS). Quality music, a little too much fat. I still love Frames though.

Awesome! :)
Their EP's and all the B-sides spread out on Singles and such are just amazing, songs like Relapse, Superfluous to Requirements, I Haven't Been the Claw For Ages and Sizeofanocean are so fantastic!
And then I didn't even mention Music For Nurses or Home & Minor, both of them are mindblowing as well.

For those who have missed it, there are also some fantastic B-sides from Frames, some of you might be familiar with "Voorhees" which is on the special edition, but I'm talking about "Red Rag to a Bear" and "Siberian Bullshit", they are both fantastic.  :hefdaddy

I think Frames is one of those albums with the perfect amount of payoff for it's buildup and vice versa. Then again, I love minimalism and use it a lot in my songs so maybe I have a skewed opinion of these sorts of things in Prog Rock.

On first listen my favorite song was Sleeping Dogs and Dead Lions.
We... can't be friends, sorry.

also they're all great albums and they're all very different and hard to compare. Frames is best and Self Preserved is least best but the other two are about equal and flip-flop for me from time to time.

Got the DVD. Can't play it on PS3 cus it doesn't support PAL, but it works fine on XBOX 360. I'm currently getting blown away.

Giving these guys a shot, I'm only on the third song of Effloresce and WTF WHY HAVENT I LISTENED TO THIS BEFORE

Actually I did because these songs sound familiar, I believe at some point I gave them a listen but I must have been dropped on my head as a kid because for some reason I discarded them.

Should I go on listening by release date or is there any other preferred order to get into them?
