HIMLABACKEN VOL 2 UPDATE

This weekend we all gathered in Skellefteå for a photo shoot, and we also added some finishing touches to the last track we still haven't send out to Rich Mouser for mixing, including a bunch of vocals and a sweet sounding saxophone solo by our good friend Jamison Smeltz. So here's the status on the album:: 7 out of 9 tracks are mixed, and we're confident we'll finish the last two during spring in time for a fall 2023 release. We'll be back with the release date, track listing and more soon. Stay tuned, friends! We can't wait to share it with you all.

Funnily enough, four days ago, Burning Shed put up a bunch of Moon Safari stuff on their store for order, so I got four albums: Himlabacken Vol. 1 Japanese Edition (with two bonus tracks), Live In Mexico (signed), The Gettysburg Address, and A Doorway To Summer (Remastered). I never got around to getting their live albums, so it was nice to get them at normal prices and not inflated secondary market prices. I had no idea that ADTS was remastered, so I figured I'd pick that up as well.

I didn't know Himlabacken Vol. 1 had a Japanese Edition. What are the bonus tracks? Are they something unique or just alternate mixes?

I ran into Rich at Morsefest and he said he'd sent out the final master the morning before he got on the plane to head to Nashville. He said it was a ton of fun working with these guys and he was looking forward to hearing back from them on whether they were happy with the final master. Looks like they are!

Between festivals and cruises I've been very fortunate to have seen them at least 3-4 times, including that amazing RoSfest performance. Very much looking forward to a new album from them.
