I like Josh Freese for the Foo. The guy can play anything basically.

Apparently The Offspring have recruitd a new drummer Brandon Pertzborn previously from Suicidal Tendencies.

So Josh Freese.... atleast for the upcoming tour?

I'm a good detective.

So funny seeing them play Money Wrench with so much energy that Pat had a serious workout with the downpicking.  :lol

New single, Show Me How - with Violet Grohl on guest vocals.

Also, they did their first live show on the 24th with Josh as the drummer.

The show is up on Dime.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

New single dropped today, over 10 minutes long.

Easily best of the bunch so far IMO.

Agreed.  Not bad, but not one of their best.

Gotta disagree. It’s easily one of their best imo. Much better than the previous 3 for sure.

Agreed. Hard to say after only one listen if I'll end up liking it as much as their best albums - found the first track underwhelming but then there was a lot of great stuff.

Not a huge fan of the way the album sounds (it seems like that's what they are going for, though, with Greg Kurstin producing), but there is some good stuff in here. I have already listened to it a couple of times today. It was more as background, so I haven't paid super-close attention...but, yes, first impression is better than the last couple of records...

Listened through a couple of times now and it is not grabbing me.  If anything, it wants to put me to sleep.   :-\

I like it better than their last two albums but it’s not a high bar.

I popped it on today for a second or third time and I'd say it's not bad at all. Couple of very questionable production choices, though. I get the reason for them but they just sound terrible: 1) the white noise at the end of the penultimate track and 2) the deliberate and then some brickwalling of the final track. The whole album is slammed but that track is extra slammed for artistic reasons, I guess.

I really like it though. Strong melodies, emotional lyrics. The Teacher is one of their best songs ever. This could be an AOTY contender for me if it still holds up at the end of the year.

I spun the new record again this afternoon and I think it’s a pretty strong record. I can’t quite put my finger on what it is but this album really captures the Foo Fighters sound from the late 90s/early 00s. Something about the vocal melodies perhaps, or something in the song structure, but I haven’t heard them sound quite like this in a long time.

I think there were flashes of it on the last record, but I get a bit of a nostalgia hit listening to these new songs.

Still on the fence.

I hear a couple fantastic tracks with the rest hit and miss atm.  Agree The Teacher is wonderful epic closer but no more so than Come Back off 2002's One By One for example...

I dunno, for some reason I was expecting more but will delve in again soon once the dust has settled.

I gave it a few listens and nothing ever really clicked with me.  I will probably revisit it again soon too, but it will probably go the way of their last few records for me.  I just never reach for those.

I listened to it a couple of times when it came out and really enjoyed it, but I also forgot about it for the last two months. I’ll give it another listen today.

Giving this a listen while cleaning. "But Here We Are" is really great.
