YES. I FUCKING KNEW YOU'D LOVE THEM! Sigh No More may be my favorite album of 2010 and I've only had it for about two weeks

Edit: oh God, I'm going to have such a hard time with the epics round. Two questions: 1 - Does it have to be "an epic," or can it just evoke the feeling of being epic? 2 - Can it be a live track?

Edit #2: Third question - Will you hate me if I send in something less than ten minutes, but over eight?

The most important thing is that it has the epic feel, although I'd like it to be at least 10 minutes if possible!

Have to say dude, I think that stuff works better in the context of an album. I'm listening through Digital Ash at the moment and I'm liking it quite a lot. The sadder songs in particular (Gold Mine Gutted and Down in a Rabbit Hole) have a really great mood to them!

Well, for a start the rankings were based on the songs alone. Also, I'm 6 tracks in and that's my least favourite so far.

Down in a Rabbit Hole is my favourite so far, it's awesome!

After this album I think I'm going to check out the sister record as well; how does that compare?

I'd say they're both equally amazing. I'm Wide Awake... is more folk oriented, at least in instrumentation. It also doesn't make you think about death as much, but it's equally sad.

And I was thinking of sending Down in a Rabbit Hole, but then I was like, nah, he wouldn't like that right off the bat

Well, now you have a better idea of my tastes at least.

I'm currently loving the instrumentation in I Believe in Symmetry. Even though you may have come bottom that round, thanks for introducing me to this band!

You made the same mistake I did when I sent Joe a River Empires song, picking entirely the wrong one to introduce someone with.

EDIT: Devil in the Details - Ship in a Bottle is such a great two-punch.

I really liked both, but actually I think on first listen Digital Ash slightly steals it for me. I'm Wide Awake... was also great, but Digital Ash had more variety in instrumentation.

You animal! OK, I have a confession. I've only listened to Digital Ash a few times a few years ago. I didn't dig it that much, whereas I'm Wide Awake It's Morning is one of my favorite records ever. I'll give it another spin.

I didn't see anything like it, but have you thought about instituting a rule that says any band that gets at least 3 points in a round cannot be used again? It would prevent people from sending more of the same.

By the way I have all the songs now, had a listen through once but it'll probably be another couple of days before I'm able to soak them in enough.

They were all quirky... some more than others.
