A-ha
« on: December 07, 2010, 01:14:11 PM »
Given that KevShmev started a thread about PSB, I might as well give kudos to another highlight of 80's pop, A-ha.
A lot of people only know the super-popular tunes of theirs (Take on me etc.), but they have some really cool stuff.

I always loved Hunting high and low: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPAzwUhXnzs

Appreciate.

I know 2 songs. Obviously Take On Me and I know one called "Velvet". I love both of them... I feel like they're very good as a band, but I don't feel like getting into them.

I have to admit that I only know the couple songs that got played on MTV back in the 80s.  "Take On Me" is still one of the best videos ever.

Heh, that is the other song I remember, but I couldn't think of the title when writing my earlier post.

I saw that they were still very big in Europe, (they just retired).  I always wondered why some bands like Toto are big in Europe but never keep their popularity in the US.  I would guess it's the over saturation in the US.  But there has to be more to it.

That's sad.  I guess it wasn't meant to be.

I always loved everything about The Sun Always Shines On TV... especially the orchestration at the beginning.

Take On Me is one of the best songs from the 80s.

Other than that one I've only heard Lifelines, Forever Not Yours (great great song), and The Living Daylights (the Bond theme).
Zydar is my new hero.  I just laughed so hard I nearly shat.

Check out the Northern King's version of "Take On Me"....it should be on youtube...man those guys are hilarious.

I loved Ah-Ha...I think my wife saw them.

My 80's love was Frozen Ghost. Even on cassette their production was incredible..it just sounded so good.

And I think some of their stuff to cd they might been the first to re-do in digital rather than analog.
Take care everyone - Bet you all didn't even notice I was gone.

Happy Lives to you all.
