as in what genres are you now or recently "just getting into" for me its technical death metal. the thing is sometimes the riffs seem to be a little too all over the place. but im really starting to like the genre especially psycroptic, the faceless, and death (not sure if they count as tech death)

For Tech death metal, also check into Gorod, Necrophagist, Martyr and Spawn of Possession

I've been checking into Celtic/English folk rock like Steeleye Span and Fairport Convention (Sandy Denny).

I don't really know how to answer this, as I'm perpetually exploring new music and genres. But I guess trip-hop is the most recent.

Lots and lots of drone music. Also, some post-hardcore.

Getting into progressive rock/metal for about 5 years... still feel I'm only getting started. :P

Other than that, gothic/doom metal and similar for around a year.

For the past month I've been listening almost entirely to Classical, New Age, Celtic, Opera, and Easy Listening.

This almost doesn't make sense either. It seems to be swing and soothing sorts of jazz, just what I've seen people label. I hate that though and never think of easy listening when I'm describing music to other people.

More electronic music, especially things with dubstep influences.

It means I have no idea what else to call Andrea Bocelli short of Pop Opera, but then you'd ask the same question.

I don't know what half the people in this thread are talking about. For me, I've been getting into more classical lately, some ancient music. Other than that, just trying to keep up to date with stuff I already like.

Haven't really explored anything new recently.  The last transition I made was from death metal to progressive metal, a few years ago.  Btw, Psycroptic is amazing (especially The Scepter of the Ancients); they're my favorite technical death metal band, right behind Anata, so you should definitely check out Anata's The Conductor's Departure if you like the melodic stuff, or Under a Stone with No Inscription if you like the more brutal stuff.

I've been getting into more folky stuff. I bought Pink Moon a few months ago, and while in a music store in Santa Fe, Argentina, I figured I'd buy myself a little gift in the form of Five Leaves Left. Very cool stuff :tup
