Out of curiosity, how do you go about this? Do you google, for instance "2009 fun metal" and see where it takes you or what?

I would do things like that and see what happens, I would write different things all the time. I also try and be specific as possible. The hints with the year of release are the easiest to get, because it narrows down a lot and you can search albums released that year. Band names will stick out and sometimes you just get lucky.
