I always try to get in quick to scoop up the few I actually know, otherwise it's just obscure stuff left that I'd have no chance of ever knowing. And by obscure, I mean anything remotely prog.

Nope, no prog, although I did try to mostly stick to stuff I knew people on the forum would know (with a few oddball ones). I think it adds to the challenge to have some variety in who posts these to get a rotation of genres.

I did try to pick a less obvious part of the cover. I probably wouldn't have recognized it either. There are still a couple of others I think you might know.

The album was actually released last year, unless you mean you discovered it this year. I made the pic obvious, because I figured it would be obscure enough.

lol. I'm an 80s boy and a KISS fan, hence knowing the BK3.
Love this album, as much if not more than After The Rain. No, I got it on release but thought that was this year... time flies! How Can I Miss You is a great song. It's a good grown up rock album.

The DLR is one of my favourites- Jason Becker owns that album, and Fair Warning is my fave VH album by far. All in all a good collage, and I know I've seen a few others, just struggling to place them.

First round of clues, so they're fairly general, but still help to narrow it down-

A1 - Melodic rock album released last year.
A2 - New wave of swedish sleaze metal.

B1 - Features a member of Dream Theater.
B2 - Folk rock. Coming from me, that pretty much gives it away.
B3 - Early 80s hard rock. The band is generally softer rock, and still going.

C1 - This metal band has a female vocalist.
C2 - Late 80s hair metal.
C4 - That's a dragon. So clearly this album is power metal.

D1 - Melodic death metal.
