I'll come back with more hints later, but I think that the ones I've given should help a bit, maybe just takes some thinking time.

Some hints:
A1 - British Progressive/Alternative band with a lot of Post-Rock influences. Not as big on this forum as they should be sadly.
B3 - A Concept album about a woman traveling through America, post 9/11. (might be really obvious)
C3 - British Progressive Rock band, somewhat related to Oceansize.
C4 - I would almost have expected some fans of The Dear Hunter to get this one, it's a fairly new album that wasn't released that long ago, and Casey is very much involved.
D4 - A band that is pretty popular here on DTF, and an album that is by many considered their best. The concept behind it could probably be considered very pretentious by an outsider, but I love it to bits.
E5 - Some connections to Alcest in terms of Country. I know she has quite a few fans here, and I would have expected Zander at least to take it right away.

Yeah that's right!

Hints for the remaining ones:

A1 - A band that since earlier this year are no longer active, sadly. They did a Cardiacs cover recently, which was most likely the last song they recorded before the break-up.
B3 - Female singer/songwriter, this album in particular is by many considered her best outside of her 'classic' 4-albums. An artist I discovered this year, and she has been climbing very high since then, and I would probably rank her in my all time top10 favorites now.
C3 - One of the first albums to have come out in 2011, a double album that clocks in at over 120 minutes in length. A combination of Progressive, Alternative and Space-rock, there are lots of influences from bands like Porcupine Tree and Oceansize.

Could we please have a hint? B2 looks like it would be fairly recognizable if you knew the cover, but C4 looks like the kind of detail off to the side that you probably wouldn't remember unless you were looking for it.
